A lot of us have them. They're an easy install. You need to know a little bit about your tail lights to do so. You can get them from iJDMToy, one of our vendors. I'd get it from them. Sometimes those items ship with bad LEDs and they will replace it, no questions asked.

I got the ones from ijdmtoy and I wasn't impressed. For me, the fitment was a bit off on one. The LED started to go out on them after a month of use and when I contacted the company they wanted me to take pictures of the defect. They only give u a short warranty time span too. I think like 2 months. I couldn't get them the pictures in time because my car is still in the shop so I missed the deadline. Also my friends told me that they can't see the lights when driving behind me, too dim.

Mine were easy enough to install - the biggest PITA is dropping wiring through from the rear light assembly to the bumper, but it's possible without even taking it off.

I found that the wiring instructions were reversed (color matching to brake vs tail light) and the bright/dim functionality wouldn't work and a VSA/ABS error triggered every time I turned my headlights on until I fixed it.

I've lost a couple of LEDs but they come on again from time to time and it's not a big deal for me.

Mine aren't the smoked ones, FWIW.

Mine do the same where they work one day and then they are missing some LED's the next . But unlike u, it bugs the heck out of me. Lol I forgot where I saw these "authentic" JDM reflectors for sale but the cost was too high for me to risk the same functionality problem. But still curious about their quality because I like the idea of having secondary brake lights.

I actually hooked it up to my license plate wires, but I don't have the additional brake lights. I thought they matched (white wire) the tail lights very well.

You should be able to put them on with little problem, but I did have a weird thing going on with mine, which I fixed. Each time I applied the brakes, the Navi-screen would act like it was going into dimming mode.... See this post, or the last couple of posts of the thread:

I never got any codes with my installation. What kind of issues did you have? (and what were the DTC's that you encountered. Maybe it just had something to do with how you wired them up. ???)

Thank you litz and Whitebeauty.

I spliced the bumper lights positive wires onto the positive wires of the tail lights and grounded them. When I turned on my lights, the bumper lights turned on along with the tail lights without issues, other than I would get a code that litterally said something about the voltage of the lights. This was 6 years ago (I think) and I can't quote the code. I showed my Honda service adviser and he said he's not aware of any way to bypass my car not liking this mod.

Thanks again.

The proper way to wire it would be with a 12V SPST relay. Trigger wire from the tail/brake lights (relay mounted as close to the source as possible), separate fresh positive not tied to any other circuit, ground, and the 87 pinout to the new bumper mounted lights.

As others have said in the past: adding anything (typically horns and lights) to any existing circuit will overwork that circuit unless you use a relay. Those circuits are designed for whatever originally used them and that's it, nothing more.

Even if you don't throw a code or have any malfunction reported chances are you've still reduced the output of the device you're drawing from and your added device isn't operating at full output. A single 20w/1.6amp addition to the tail/brake light circuit in the CR-Z results in a noticeable drop in light output of both lights (OEM and the added one) compared to their respective full output on individual circuits.
