CR-Z Door handles

Hello everyone,

Hoping someone can help. We are in New Zealand and recently bought a neat white Japanese import 2010 CR-Z Alpha, with a sticky left door handle.

Loving the car to drive so wanting to get her a good as possible, so I thought I would get a replacement door handle. Ordered a genuine item from a shop in Japan, but I have obviously ordered the wrong handle.

Anyone know if I can make a good handle out of the two without too much risk, or should I be looking to return the new one and find the correct part?

Also, anyone know where I can find the Japanese model part numbers?

Thanks

Hi guys,

Thanks for your responses, yes it is a smart key car, that’s why I mistook the key lock hole on what I think is a US drivers door handle for our Japanese passenger door handle with the electric push button to lock/ unlock the car.

As I can’t seem to find the number of the handle we have, or any that look like it for sale. I wondered if I can keep the plastic outer body of the handle with the electric button that sits under the opening mechanism and replace the opening mechanism and handle I can hopefully build the new handle I need. Just don’t want to wreck a new handle if it won’t work!

Thanks so much for your time and knowledge, this forum is awesome.

These threads may help...

Hi Fediej,

Thanks for the articles, if I have read them correctly, it’s the handle that breaks, so the easiest way to fix my car is to swap just the handles and then I will try the repair so I have a spare.

Thanks again everyone, cheers
