2013 Side Mirrors on 2011?

Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone knows if the new 2013 CR-Z side mirrors (just the mirrors) will fit in my 2011? I know about the T1R blue mirrors, but they don't have the defrosting connector (and I need it here in Vancouver) and it looks like the 2013's have the expanded view mirrors with defrost capability.

Also, those of you who have a 2013 CR-Z, are both your side mirrors have the expanded view?

By the way, I think the 2013's side mirrors are kinda folded on the outer part to view the blind spot area.

Thanks for anyone who has any info on this.

Mark

mounting points should be the same.
nothing on the body sheetmetal was changed. Only bolt on stuff like headlights, bumper, rear diffuser...were changed, stuff that unbolts from the unibody.

Yes, please... anyone with a 2013 model, please let me know.

For $50 per mirror, I am definitely thinking of replacing the driver side (left side) but am not sure if the passenger side (right side mirror) is worth changing out.

Thank you very much everyone for your help and comments.

Someday, new cars will not come with rear view side mirrors.

It will be a video screen and a camera and you look at the display (distracting)

Be glad these even got mirrors. Probably will get rid of the see thru windshield too, and look at a video game type screen.

^ Please - don't feed the animals - eh I mean Bheinen.. LOL... :giggle: Teasing..

But, my first thought, to answer the question, most modders would instantly find a way to hook it up to the entertainment systems for videos..

Hi All,

Well, it looks like CrzyKly is absolutely correct and I am completely wrong.

I brought my 2011 side mirrors and measured them to the 2013's and they are about 25% larger than the 2011's. I am guessing about 1.5"-2" wider but the same height. But darn, those new 2013 mirrors are really nice!! I was also able to test out the backup camera in the rear view mirror and that looked really cool too!!

So it looks like if you want the new 2013 side mirrors, you will need to buy the whole side mirror. What is even worst for me is that even if I wanted to upgrade, I couldn't buy them as they no longer have the SSM colour anymore for 2013!!

Too Bad.. So Sad.

Has anyone looked at possibly merging the back (defroster stuff) on our mirrors and somehow replacing just the mirror with the T1R mirrors? I mean if they are the same size... Or putting the defroster lines/stuff on the back of the T1R mirrors?

hmm, I feel like passenger side mirror view is like I'm shooting a wide angle lens camera.
Honda website is showing expanded view is only on the driver side.
Although the passenger mirror isn't convexed (or whatever) it is wider than the old mirrors. I bought a pair of t1r mirrors before doing any research and there was almost an inch of extra mirror on the '13 model. Get the '13 mirrors when properly set the are amazing, in my opinion.
