You're unfortunately not going to fit any real deep dish wheels without your tires sticking out of the fender wells.

Some wheel designs give a deep dish effect by curving the spokes inward at the lip, which is about all you can do staying above +30 offset.

One set that I found that would fit the CRZ are the XXR 006 which can provide up to 2.5" front and 3.25" deep lips with a staggered setup, and would still be pretty flush.

Well...yeah, you have a point about racing on them.

However, there is a side note to that. While the more ornate rotas, like the Tarmac 3, or the gravel, may be slightly overwhelmed on the track, the Boost, Slipstream, D2, etc, are perfect.

So I guess you might have a point when it comes to beating your rims to death on the track with hot brakes and everything else affecting them. For most people, they are more than adequate and IMHO are a very light weight low cost option to Volks, Gram Lights, Prodrives, and many others.

That being said, I'm not buying Rotas...not my style.

Ive raced autocross on Rotas for years and theyve held up to plenty of abuse and performed well, all for <$200 a wheel.

Ive seen others running BBS and O.Z. lightweight rims have them break or crack from the same type of use, and they spent 4 times the $.

I really think most of the bad name comes from the designs mostly being replicas, which causes people who spend more for "real" wheels to try to justify their purchase by making the cheaper option look inferior.

There are plenty of cheaply made wheels out there people run that are inferior to Rotas but we never seem to hear about them...

Until I have a bad experience I will continue using Rotas, and when I hit a pothole and bend a rim Ill be thankful Im not out $1000 to replace it.

:)

Yeah thats one the articles I have seen on them, and theres plenty more threads about Rota's morphing like that...If you guys stick by Rotas and autocross like someone mentioned earlier, I say props to you, not going to bad mouth them, as I have never had them or rode on them to know...Its just seems their are far more threads posted about them morphing and breaking than any other brand I know...and probably mostly due to replica's, but to see them having some kind support and you guys stick by the brand really put them higher on my list, as I am sure the threads and pics I have seen are mainly due to misuse as I posted earlier in this thread.

the reason there are more rota negativity threads is they are the largest replica company as far as i know. there are no other companies with such a deep line of replica wheels which leads to two main arguments

1 - people with real wheels will focus their attention + bashing there

2 - complaints will pile up way more frequently about broken / cracked Rotas simply because there are more.

My 2 cents:
Im firmly in the "buy the realest thing you can afford" camp so if i couldnt afford the TE's I bought I would have on RPF1's or some other well made wheel.

... and now we are WAY off topic.
