I was installing my new swift springs i got... place the spring on the strut ready to go. I went to go put it back in and now the hub wont connect back to the strut. I spun the hub and seems to be as if the joint possiblt came out. Should it have done that? Im about to take out the axel today and check it out....Any recomendations on what to do? I thought this was gona be an easy task but of course its not...

Your inner CV joint pulled apart because you allowed the hub assembly to drop after removing the strut, so it will not be able to align and reattach to the strut assembly until you slide the joint back together.

Put a jack under the lca to lift the hub assembly with the strut still removed entirely. You need to raise the hub much higher, above the level of the joint, then work it back and forth while rotating until it slides into place. Keep the jack there and control how much you let the hub drop this time, just far enough to align it back with the strut assembly in place.

You do this:

I literally just did this to my car, really screwed me over price wise to have a mechanic fix it. Next time a shop is installing my coil overs.

I've heard about this, and it makes me a little nervous considering I'm about to DIY some coilovers and a FSB. What do you recommend to keep the hub up while shock and struts are out?

Yes! Keep the hub up, it is such a PITA if your CV joint comes apart. My buddy let go of the hub on my passenger side when we did my H&R Springs and ended up from what I can tell damaging the joint. I've yet to pull the old CV joint apart to investigate it further but I ended up replacing the CV with a used eBay one.

This has happened to me twice. Get a jack and put it under the hub make sure its a little higher then what it would be if it where level put the rim on and put 2 or 3 lug nuts hand tight, then just turn the wheel with your hand back and forth while at the same time pushing on the upper portion of the tire kind of trying to rock the rim and axel back in. It's a pain in the ass your most likely going to have to get an alignment done as the steering wheel is going to be off. I've had to get alignments done both times it happened. As many times ive installed coilovers and springs on cars I have never delt with a car that the axels come out so easy.
