If the joint isn't worn out you can replace just the dust boot.

 

Do you mean the dust cover? I did find the dusk cover parts online.
I myself have no experience with the car, so would rely on a mechanic to do it for me and seem like all of them told me to change the whole thing.

 

Yes dust cover, same thing. The rubber boot at the end of the dealy-bob-mathing.

Honda sells just that rubber part and it can be replaced. Nearly as expensive as the whole assembly but it's less labor and no alignment required afterwards.

This is not typical even for Honda to sell just the rubber so most shops are going to say replacement of the whole part is the only option.

 

I think I'll just go change the whole thing for both sides just to maintain the car's condition.

So the image below is the track rod ends and ball joint right? just to confirm before I make the order

 

Ball joints are part of the lower control arm and are not replaceable. Need to replace the whole lower arm. Or just replace the rubber boots. Those are also sold separately.

Inspect for wear. If they aren't worn just replace the boots.

For other cars yes ball joints are separate. For the CR-Z they are cast into the aluminum control arm.

 

I found these after-market track rods parts. Do you think is ok to use these after market parts?
