I was wondering the same thing yesterday.
A bit of my previous experiences, if I may. In 2000 I had an automatic Mustang (fun car). I remember that the transmission used fluid and "plates" to manage the shifting between gears. You could buy a "shift kit" where you would open up the transmission management case and install a different "plate" he plate would result in faster transmission response and sharper shifting of gears. If I remember correctly they were (are?) used in Police Cars as well to get more performance out of the automatic transmission.
Granted we don't have "gears" in the CVT to more rapidly transition between, but it makes me wonder if there is something we can do here. There should be a way to change the gear ratios pattern to give more torque at the expenditure of velocity, right? Anyone know quite a bit about how the transitions up and down the transmission is handled (ie: at what speed and throttle positions does the CVT select various ratios?). Is the CVT even aware of the throttle position for that matter?
I like that Sprint Booster idea. Makes me wonder if the Booster for the Fit would work as well.
