hey mods if i posted this in the wrong spot please move it accordingly :wink2:

i just ordered a buddy club short throw kit from kami speed. i've been wanting a new shift knob for a while now. i don't feel like its necessary but might be kinda nice.

I'm not particularly wanting one with all the shift positions on it, but if its a nice weight and looks good i may consider it. i kinda like the skunk2 or momo brands. carbon fiber and leather is nice. i kinda like the "shadow" momo style, idk what they're called exactly but those are comfy.:nerd:

so....anyone have any suggestions? preferences with weight, size, color, material, price? thanks for your help guys!:grin2:

I had the OEM EX, NRG Carbon Fiber ball, NRG Heavy Weight Carbon Fiber ball, the Mugen Carbon Fiber with Red band, the Blox 490, and I currently have a custom Password: JDM Brass type. With the Buddy Club short shifter, the shifts feel super smooth and amazing. It was the heaviest one I could find at the price. Personally I think the heavier the better, but some of the other guys think lighter is better. I feel like you have to work a lot harder with heavier ones.

Mugen carbon fiber one was gorgeous. You could really see a difference in quality between it and the NRG ones. It was beautiful, but I had it in my car for a day, but it just didn't shift as nicely as the NRG Heavy Weight. I hated to do it, but I took the Mugen one out and sold it.

I highly recommend either the NRG Heavy Weights or the Blox 490s.
thanks for t he awesome advice! I should have mentioned I don't really like the "ball" style lol. I kinda forgot about that. but I took a look at the ones you suggested to get a good idea. I actually really like the sound of the weighted brass knob you have at the moment. but to save a bit on price I decided to go with an aluminum type 1 (I think that was the name) in red. it said it only weighs 6.1 oz which is quite low compared to the 420 gram (14.something oz) of the brass type I was looking at tho. but oh well I gotta start somewhere. and if its not heavy enough I'll know for next time to get a heavier knob.

thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
