Hello everyone! After years of toying the idea of owning a CR-Z, I finally did it. This is my 2011 CR-Z EX w/Navi in Premium White Pearl. I’ve had for over a month now and it took me a while to find a clean one with a 6MT. It currently has around 113k miles and I am really liking the car so far. I’ve already done maintenance stuff like a new door handle, rear brake pads, and an engine air filter. I just currently got a GE8 intake manifold as well as GE8 cams, rocker assembly, and fuel injectors. I’m hopeful that I can get that installed soon.

Welcome and how lucky were you in finding a 6MT and in good condition with reasonable mileage.

Might I suggest installing carscanner pro app on your phone so you can check your battery health, IMA current etc, and, if tuning, monitor the cat temp & AFR. carscanner.info

Watch you don't burn out the cat with those bigger injectors (unless it has forced induction)

Also, any tuning needs ecm software mods but you can do this yourself with HTS = Honda Tuning Suite (hondatuningsuite.com)

I was pretty lucky finding a 6mt. Must of took me a couple months.

I do have carscanner, which I use with my Bluetooth OBDII.

I don't know if the injectors would be a problem for the cat. The ones I got were oem GE8 ones. They are slightly bigger than the CR-Z ones. I remember reading a thread on here that the last piece of running the GE8 cams on a stock ECU was the GE8 injectors. Without it, I believe the engine runs too lean and causes a CEL.

I have heard of HTS. I’ve heard that compared to other options it gives you access to the IMA. Although HTS is something quite new to me compared to K tuner or Hondata.

The best you will see from the NA engine is 135-140bhp inc the IMA contribution of 14bhp. (roughly speaking, Rb1 +5, Cam +5, induction kit +5 = +15. 108bhp stock, so now 123 + IMA and ecm tune also required.

Depends on how much extra flow the GE8 injectors provide. They may be fine, just watch the CAT temp.

Yes HTS gives access to IMA settings and tables. I have mine with 125amps of assist and upto -90 or charging, plus less throttle pedal movement to get 100% assistance.
