I stripped the oil pan drain plug hole (M14 x 1.5) on my 2010 CR-Z. It was eventually repaired by tapping a bigger hole (M15 x 1.5) and putting an adequate size drain plug in. That held for around a month, then it started leaking again. I'm thinking about replacing the whole oil pan to permanently fix this issue.
Has anyone done that and has some tips to share ?

I had and RSX, hit a snow encapsulated small boulder/rock on the highway at 73 mph, oil pan sliced like a lazer by what I thought was a simple chunk of snow (Alaska) Blessedly I was in the Air Force and as a Section Chief I had 60 mechanics dying to fix it. So, we did. Minor nightmare, but we got it done in 4 hours with probably more equipment toys than would be found at a dealer.

Might be worth picking up one of these drain valves, I have one coming in for my next oil change:

Clearance should be no problem, although it's a low riding car so if you hear anything hit the undercarriage definitely check it.

I mainly got it for convenience reasons, but it's a "torque once and not have to worry about stripping again" solution
