my guess is you won't get tired of the CR-Z b/c if you're open to exploring new driving methods there is not only the "sporty" side of the CR-Z... but you can go for mpg-crushing numbers that would scare the Prius... the possibilities are endless with the CR-Z!!!

Some of my co-workers don't understand why I dropped some of the more luxurious features of my Charger for a different car.

Its what I pay money for right now that matters to me. The only thing I dislike is how hard it is to keep the black from looking dusty. I like this car in a very settled way.

I have a motorcycle that is not 'spectacular' in any one way, but its such a sold, great all around bike with nice looks that I can't find anything to replace it. Day in and day out I get on it and I just like my bike. Same for the car. None of those little nagging bits and pieces.

And you want more for your Audi, but as said, its a 4 year old car turning 5. There is only but so much you are going to get for it. Its not always about your car but the perception of the market.

If you get bored with it, trade again. Have the car you want. That's worth quite a bit in peace of mind.

Can I trade even if I still have payments left?

I'm leaning towards doing the trade. I also realize that me driving a lot I will save enough money for the payments just from the gas money I'll be saving. I think I'll be paying around 200$ if I go for the 3 year payout, cheap as 120 for 5 years but thats a little to long.

Sure, you can always trade. You get what the vehicle is worth minus what amount is still owed, if any.

if you owe $18k and they give you $17k for your trade, then that left over $1k gets tacked onto the new car you buy...

I wish the car was 18k then I would take it. Dealer actually called me back today saying to call him back and maybe he can cut some money off the final price. You think I could get him down to 20k for the EX?

i HIGHLY doubt you can get it down that low... usually Invoice is only about $1k under MSRP which doesn't leave much room to work with on dropping the price... the best i've seen what $300 under MSRP...

which transmission are u looking to get CVT or 6MT? the CVT is $650 more than the 6MT...

and i'm not sure how it works for cars but i believe when buying a motorcycle they usually won't finance someone if they owe less than $5,000... and even at that the payments are super low, even with not so great credit...

Thanks. Well when I was there the price he gave me was for the EX, he said if I went with the base it would be around 3grand cheaper to pay out.

that's odd... the base is only $1,500 less than the EX... unless he quoted you on an EX-Navi model then that would make sense...

take a look at my post above about what the EX adds... personally most (all) of those things should be standard on the car... the leather steering wheel and HIDs alone make the decision for me to want an EX over the Base that much easier... if you're coming from the A6 and go for the Base model, you probably won't be as happy as if you went to the EX...

Your right. Now I just went to their site for a trade appraisal. Put in my car, mileage and it asked me if I have a power sunroof and BOSE. Which I selected both, and it gave me a base range of upto $17,000 but due to me having the BOSE, power sunroof and low miles, it spit out a total trade- value of 1$7,500-20,500$

cool... since you mentioned the sound i forgot to add that to the EX over the Base model...

EX also adds:
360watt 7-speaker sound system including 8" subwoofer


i've driving many cars and spent a lot of time in very expensive cars... the CR-Z EX sound system is really good... i think it's better than my friend with her '10 E350 Coupe Premium Sound... and almost as good as the BMW Premium Sound in the M3... the only thing is the M3 gets 2 subwoofers and 400watts more than the CR-Z...

basically Base sound 160watt nonsense
EX 360watts of pure awesomeness!!!

Haha true. But why is it their site is telling me my car is 17.5k to 20.5k with the bose and sunroof + my low mileage, but they offered me only 17k which doesn't take into account of my miles and sound+sunroof? Seems strange as if their site is telling me I should get upto 20.5k if its in perfect condition I should atleast be getting 18.5k no?

i guess... sometimes dealers just give a rounded number regardless of what features the car has... so while it sounds good on paper, the dealership might still look at it as a regular A6... also remember they might not even take the trade so they can sell it on their lot... they might take it to sell at auction and if they do that, they will certainly try to low ball you...

maybe you can get some documentation to back up the price you're looking to get... research online and other places to see what you can get for it... CarMax is decent on pricing but they'll tell u that the price they offer is only good for 7 days... that's just a way for them to make u make a decision fast...

my friend went from a Black '05 Civic LX to a '10 Mercedes E350 Coupe... she looked online and several places to sell it... CarMax wanted to offer her $5,000 for it and she ended up trading it in at the Mercedes dealership for $5,500... but she would've never known unless she shopped around...

I bought a '09 Clubman S in October of '08. Paid $28,800 + the extended maintenance package which was about $1600 and transferable. As soon as I got my license plates I put it up for sale. The Toyota dealer would only give me $20K on a trade for a '09 rav4 and no $ off sticker. I ended up selling it 9.5 months later to a private party for $27K.
