What did you do to the 'Z today?

So other car forums I've been on have had a thread where you can go and post up a brief description and a couple of pics of something you did to your car today. Since we don't have one on here(neither Google or I were able to find one) I decided to try and start one.

Ran power and ground wires for my amp tonight. Power was a pain to get through the firewall, but I ended up using the OEM grommet behind the fan on the passenger side footwell. Tucked all the wire away and at first glance you probably wouldn't even notice it which is just the way I like it.

Swapped out my D4S LEDs since one of the conversion decoders went bad causing hyper flickering. My 8000 kelvin D4S HIDs will temporarily be replacing them until a new set of D4S LED's come in this week. Unfortunately, the LED brand I had used do not sell the decoders separately, this is why I'm having to purchase a brand-new set from another brand.

Got the Spoon Sports Front Sway Bar & Links installed. I did not want to do this install myself this time, so I hired a mechanic and got charged for 6 hours labor cost.

EDIT: The next day, went back to the shop to get a weird noise fixed coming from under the car, it sounded like something was loose after the install. The mechanic torqued down all bolts again to be sure and also moved the O2 sensor arm upward from the Tegiwa 2nd decat pipe since it had evidence of hitting the newly installed sway bar.
After that, the sound was not able to be replicated.

Got an alignment and installed the aFe Takeda intake. The sound is awesome (also the look in the engine bay).
It definitely feelz like it has more low end torque, didnt get a good chance to test out the mid/high. Have to get a feel for this over the next week or so.
It's a decent volume in the cabin too.

Does this mean it’s time to change my serpentine belt? It’s on the medium tension when it’s off, when it’s on, and when I put it in drive. It’s starts to whine once I put it in drive & when I accelerate low rpm’s

Installed new Alla Lighting CANBus D4S/D4R/D4C LED headlight bulbs the other day, I think they are a bit better than the other ones I had on, especially since the new tech now allows the conversion piece to be built into the LED ballast connecter.

Not today, a couple of days ago-
Chased a P2647 that popped up. This is related to the VTEC solenoid, I looked up the part and was ready to order one if needed but fortunately it was resolved by unplugging and reseating the connectors.
Quite happy about that, especially just after throwing money at the brakes.

Spoon Sports rigid collars were installed. I did notice a difference, especially during cornering. And it did straighten everything out for the alignment which is good. I now have the full Spoon Sports suspension aftermarket parts offered for the CR-Z installed at this point and I don't regret it at all.

You might want to check the filter screen for your vtec solenoid, just to make sure it's clear. They're fairly cheap online.
Thanks, I'd prefer not to take it apart unless I have to. So far it's been good for about 200 miles.
Besides, that's a code for high circuit voltage so electrical rather than mechanical.

That's awesome. I'm definitely going to think about this when I end up getting the front sway bar.
Is the added stiffness uncomfortable at all?

The car handles better, that's all that matters. But to answer your question, it's not as uncomfortable as I had thought it would have been, its tolerable.
been a whole lot of work this weekend and a whole lot of frustration.

Got the brakes bled on the 2016 and took it for a little rip around the block. everything handles as it should, albeit with about all of the MID alerts blasting at me. Parking brake is also acting up still. Car seems to think the parking brake is in the opposite state that it actually is. I'm going to assume for now that most of the weird electical issues are from a dead 12V

Successfully done on the 2013:
  • BC Racing coilovers
  • new pads and rotors all 4 corners, as well as lubing all the caliper slide pins
  • Installed powerflex Urethane rear axle bushings
  • K&N typhoon intake
  • Oil Change
  • found the annoying rattle that's been bugging the hell out of me
Unsuccessfully done on the 2013: Reinstalling the damn rear axle. It just will not line up the last like 5mm to let the bolt engage in the threads I've spent easily 12h JUST trying to install the rear beam axle. I've tried all manner of kicking, pulling, pushing, prying, crying, jacking, hitting with a hammer, and it just WILL. NOT. GO.

How do the Spoon dampers and springs feel? Ordered a set a little while ago, just waiting for it to arrive.

Did you do both front and rear sets? I see the front set and it works for zf1 and zf2. I cant get a good idea of the rear set (its much cheaper). On some sites it lists as for ZF1 and others ZF2. This is the part number 50300-GP2-000

Haha best answer. That was my reaction to the BC coilovers. "Yes, theyre stiffer but not uncomfortable." And the payoff is definitely worth it. I don't think I'll be putting them on the hardest setting anytime soon though haha
@destructoid23 You will feel a lot more confident doing sharp turns or lane changes in general, even better with the added front stabilizer bar and collars. Because of the stiffer springs, your drive will be somewhat rougher going over bumps and or rough roads.

@akiraproject24 Purchased both the Spoon rigid collars from Blackhawkjapan.

Rear # 50300-GE8-000

The 50300-GP2-000 part number you mentioned is for the ZF2.

I got the axle installed last night at about midnight. 15 hours total just to go from installing the bushings to installing the axle.

Between the coilovers and these bushings, the car is super stable. Feels like a whole new car.

I also got the basis rear sway bar installed with the axle. Corners so well now. Can't wait to pop my sticky tires on and go down to the dragon next week.

Sounds good, i'm looking forward to them. I'm currently on Tein Street Basis Coilovers that the previous owner installed. One of the strut bearings blew so I had to get something else, plus up here in Canada exposed coils threads can deteriorate if you don't keep them clean. So i look forward to running them.

Cabin air filter change. Was really filthy after 1 year. I was missing the outer panel that closes off the cabin filter at the rear of the glove box so grabbed one of those AND grabbed an OEM spare tire kit.

I have to figure out what size tire I need for it. It comes with a 16x4 tireless rim. Anyone know what Txxx/xx/xx temp tire I'll need for that?
