For what it's worth, these usually trade hands for about $100-150, and can sometimes be found on ebay or car-part.com

If you have to have one, they are still available new, here is the part number information but the Price is really high and it was a standard part on every CR-Z. Not sure why they vanish when cars are sold in the used market.

People probably throw them in the garage when not needed and then forget them when they sell the car. I say that as someone with a cargo cover in my garage for a Smart ForTwo that I no longer own.If you have to have one, they are still available new here is the part number information but the Price is really high and it was a standard part on every CR-Z not sure why they vanish when cars are sold in the used market.

Funny. I had a fortwo. Yanked out the aftermarket cruise control and HIDs before it sold. Was good money in those parts before Smart was erased from the map. Their fatal blow was killing the dealerships and then sending us all to Mercedes dealership for service. Those snooty turds wanted nothing to do with the econo box when they had $100k+ cars sitting on the showroom. Ultimately that is why we parted ways with the fortwo.
And uhhh to keep on track, all CR-Zs came with the cover.

Mine is always in the car either in the top position and deployed most of the time or in the bottom position not deployed. The interesting use case is the bottom position and deployed to divide the cargo area. There is even notches in the cargo mat for it to make storing it easy. I don't understand the people that just leave it laying front to back in the hatch area or remove it.
Back on topic yes all CR-Zs when new came with it and as you can see from above they are very expensive to replace with new and as with all unique (?)parts for a CR-Z hard to find used or from alternative sources. Just a note it is the same part for all years.

Considering all CR-Zs came with them and what they cost new that is a great price. You don't like the price don't buy it. Very few are available used. As I happened to be on Redline's page I saw it and I know it is hard to get hence my adding it here in the appropriate want to buy thread.

There is also economies of scale the less of something there is the more each individual unit costs. This is basic economics. If you need one and these are the prices you buy at the offered price. If you don't like the prices you don't buy and someone else will.

I totally agree and since they don't make the CR-Zs any more it it totally what one is willing to pay and what it's worth to them. I was initially prepared and expecting to pay $250ish but ended up making a DIY cover as a temp fix and to see what might come available. I was very lucky in that someone had one they either did not care for / never used or either sold their CR-Z and forgot to include the cover so at $100 + s/h it was perfect for me but I'm sure these types of deals will become fewer and further in between as time passes. Thank you all again for you input and I appreciate the opportunity to converse more experienced CR-Z owners as I'm continuing to enjoy my Z. Thanks again and most appreciative!!!
