Hallo CR-Z forum, I am posting here and idea I got, after reading the threads about the CR-Z "ZEV mode" and fuel saving ...

My idea was, knowing that the CR-Z would be able to move with only the IMA engine, as some have happened without petrol, why not act on the side of the petrol pump?
For example, you could set a button that blocks the injection of petrol while it is pressed, to be used perhaps between the cars in the queue or for pure experiment.

What do you think? It is feasible?

Yes you could do it if you wanted.. Give it a try..
Might set a fuel related error code of some sort.

With the standard pack for very short distances. <1km
With a bigger battery longer distances. Several km..

Just remember that the IMA motor is always connected to the gas engine so with the pumping losses it won't be very efficient. Maybe useful in a pinch if you run out of fuel not far from the gas station, or maybe to impress your friends, but that's about it.

Yeah in one of the other threads a member who was tampering with forcing the car to run battery-only said just driving down one street they went from full-bars of IMA down to three in an incredibly short order. Basically useless.

Eh these mine ideas are basically research ideas for mr. Perkins
I don't have the knowledge to tap into the car electronics... (Or almost, If I find an Hondata in EU decently priced I will buy it eventually, but this is another thread)
