I've been looking into the CR-Z for my possible next car and noticed a lot of people seem to have a problem with opening the hatch and the roof rack. I did a little searching and I was wondering if anyone thought of using a rack from boofsquire? They make a rack for the hatch of the Nissan Zs and I figure with the short roof, high hatch profile they might be compatible. Basically he built a rack to go on the hatch itself and not the roof. What do you guys think?

Thule will recomend to use rack facing backwards, lots of downhillers use racks that way...did not like the look since have rack on 7 days a week

MuckyMucky,

I have a 53cm pinarello fixie that fits fine with the front wheel off - but I would take your bike and try it in the back to see if yours works - depends on seatube length on the bike and where you have the driver and passenger seats positioned. You also need to put the rear wheel drivetrain side up in toward the passenger seat.
Hope this helps - for me not being able to fit my road and track bikes in this car would have been a deal breaker.
