Nissan Leaf Test Drive Tour!

Well for starter I own a CRZ already. I noticed this test drive tour on Facebook. I live 1 mile away from the Domain in ATX, so I figure what the ****. Got a test drive ready for 12/17. I am more so curious how the car handles and performs all electric, since there is no real comparison to any available market of autos at dealers. I will be bringing a camera so I will have pics then!

interesting... let us know how it goes
Nothing up in the North East. Sad & odd considering we have a pretty hybrid friendly market.
the problem with the nissan leaf is that it's a nissan. still, i'm glad that the world is starting to lessen it's dependency on oil.
Cool, I too am in Austin and have a CR-Z, but I scheduled a test drove too. Thanks for letting us (me) know.

How did the test drive goes? I am curious as to how well the LEAF performed. Of course how far it will go before needing a charge. I think we won't know charge consumption in relative to mpg for some time since so new. Interesting to know cost per miles compared to gas consumption and will it be worth the sticker price?
Unfotunatly I did not get to make it. Got called out to work in the Gulf. Kinda disappointed but oh well what can i do.
Here's a link to a post with a youtube vid I made back in October when the Tour rolled through San Diego. The actual test drive isn't until the end of the video. I'd say the acceleration on it feels decent, but I feel like the CR-Z still feels like it's a bit faster. Maybe it's just me being biased :/

That sucks but such is live!!! Thanks for the update.

mocmylov, Thnx for the video. Quiet ride. Were you able to bring the baby up to traffic speed especially on freeway? How was road noise?
It would be interesting to find out the range of this vehicle in real life driving conditions.
The drive was only about 10 minutes, but it got up to speed quite nicely. The motor definitely has some pep to it, but driving it the way I did (wasn't shown on the video. he stopped recording it) I wouldn't be surprised to get a range of 60 or less. As far as road noise, it only seemed slightly quieter than the cr-z
Please share your further experience how it goes.
nissan leaf is an awesome car and also have some good features in all its a nice car to drive in
I've suffered the aftermath of Hurricanes Francis, Jeanne, and Wilma in South Florida. My RSX did well to avoid the long gas station lines, and my CR-Z will do much better when the next hurricane inevitably comes, but I have no idea where Leaf owners will charge their batteries, because my typical wait period for electricity to be restored was two weeks and over a month for the most unfortunate. Buying gas for a cheap electric generator to charge the Leaf seems ridiculous, very polluting (including noise), and very inefficient.
