I believe it just covers the gearbox itself, not shipping. But I will double check before I proceed. Yeh I read the same thing in the manual - so this Saturday I'm going to take the car to a Honda dealer to get advice and confirmation before I begin any workBe sure to read the fine print on that return guarantee, does it cover labor and shipping (both of which are expensive) or just a refund for the gearbox itself?
Also note that according to the service manual, if the transmission has been removed some calibrations for the IMA motor are supposed to be done. This requires the Honda HDS or an equivalent device, your shop might not have this so you may want to check with them before proceeding so they can be prepared. A trip to a Honda dealer might be needed once it's back together.
Hi spdbump - yeah I believe so. I don't think there's a restocking fee. Just the shipping charge might not be covered that's allCan you return a part that was installed and removed ? Is there a restocking fee?
Yeh so I've found two pal. One gearbox is in Poland, and the lead mechanic at my mates garage is polish, so he's going to check with the polish seller about that one. The other one is UK based so that might be better and quicker (as you noticed he's from Yorkshire)I thought you were looking in Poland?
That Ebay lad has address in Yorkshire and Cheshire?? He is registered as a vehicle dismantling company. Just ask him what return policy is. I doubt very much you would get labour costs back from ANYONE!
I'm down in Southampton, hope the gearbox and clutch isn't too much of a pain, keep us updated!Thank you man I really appreciate the warm welcome! Yeh we've got the same colour, I love that colour. Thanks for the compliments 🙏
Yeh I'm going to have a word with Honda and see what they say about the clutch kit. My friends gotta garage and he's quite good, so might get his team to do the fitting tbh. The gearbox I might have to import from Poland as they seem like they have the most gearboxes available. Lucky for me eBay has a 10 day policy, so I can get it fitted & checked, and if it drives bad, just get the gearbox sent back again
I'm from Luton, not far from London mate. Yourself ?
Hi dude, yeh definitely need one from England now that I think about it 🤣 thank you for the advice my guy. The one I found is 2010 so should be okayThe UK one might be better as it will know which side of the road to drive on.
Good luck hope you get a decent one wherever it comes from.
Oh and make sure you get a gearbox from the right year, they are not all the same. '11-12 and '13-'16 are different and you'll have issues if you install the wrong one.
Oh you're not too far then mate! Still the same country 😂 yeh sure thing will let you know! I hope it's a quick fix man. Don't want to break the bank on itI'm down in Southampton, hope the gearbox and clutch isn't too much of a pain, keep us updated!
Ah yeah that makes sense. It's funny how they did that for the UK. The user car market over here is really good I can't lieAh yes you had 2010's there. We only had '11's although mine was purchased in '10 (they actually left the service book in the glovebox although it's empty after the PDI).
Hope that box is in your car soon.
