so what i got from the link is that you can have more flow through the after market filters but does not filter better. You can have better filtration from stock filter but not as good flow though the flow doesnt restrict as much as one would think.
So i still think im gonna get an after market for the flow and will just do a intake cleaning with the spray cleaner maybe once a year to possibly help get what dirt goes go through the filter out of the engine.
i have had K&N filters on pretty much all my cars with a CAI and have not had problems with MAF sensor but install it correctly and you should be fine. The Layout of the engine bay makes me think that just going to a Speed shop and buying a 90* elbow or even a 45* would be as good unless you can get the piping to go outside the bay somewhere but that will come in warmer weather time so for now its a drop in K&N for me.
when i went to the k&n site and went to buy it online it gave me a list of stores to buy from, direct from k&n was not an option for me, guess they dont like me doing all this business with them.
^^^^^^^ i wonder if hes is talking about an intake silencer or exhaust. if there is a resonator on the exhaust then that will be removed as well in time.
Honestly I don't feel a difference, maybe a slight throttle response, got sick the same day I put it in so I haven't spent any time in the seat to see any difference, the sucking sound is only when I press the peddle, if any of you have ever heard a vw vr6 intake when you press the peddle you would know what I mean though it's not as prevalent as that.
after a good amount of time i can really hear the engine when im driving and really like the throttle response the car has now, really cant wait to do the resonator delete.
