Also: Chicken.

Got any bacon to go with those eggs? We haven't had much, if any, of that sloppy weather yet. Perhaps tomorrow, eh? We're overdue.

It begins tonight :scared: All over the highway are signs reading "white out conditions" "avoid travel 11pm-10pm".

So I can skip work tomorrow? :giggle:

Yeah, we got our first real hit of snow today--I-70 had many wrecks and disabled cars along the road--wind's picking up tonight and temps dropping. Only good thing is the CRZ is sitting nice and comfy in the garage and the Insight has some fresh winter tread to do all the dirty work.

Yes, you can skip work tomorrow--don't want a scared driver out there!:rotfl:

Lol i remember a late night trip shortly after i got my Z, very very cold and was washing the windows. Stopped at a fuel station to find my headlight washers had frozen in the up position with little icicles hanging off them. Not as impressive as yours though :)

I need to make a thread for this year's Watkins Glen opening weekend. I haven't forgotten, don't worry. A few people on Instagram have told me they are interested.

Had 18" of snow fall in less than a day yesterday. I took lots of photos but I have been having trouble using the photobucket app or website lately. Driving was still dicey with winter tires because I only have 4" ground clearance at best!

I forget are you lowered? That was the first thing I noticed when I got the Speed Bump was in the first snow fall I had more trouble in less snow than the previous car due to its height off the road.

Yes I am lowered in Eibach springs. I ended up getting stuck in the end of my driveway cause I didn't see the pile of snow the plow put there.

A few days ago I drove over frozen slush, which was VERY BUMPY. Once I switched lanes I could hear that the driver door speaker was buzzing loudly at any and all bass. Nowadays it cuts in and out, but it's usually out.

So, I got a bonus at work and used it to purchase a speaker component system (door speakers and dash tweeters) for $100, the Blaupunkt Blue Magic CX 130. I had help from Stephen (sorry I forgot your forum username!) and Talk2meGOOSE. Goose will be installing these for me and also instructed me to get aluminum roof flashing and neoprene. Just ordered two 36"x48" sheets of neoprene, at 1/32" thick for $57. Neoprene is not cheap!

I'm not super into sound systems, but I am excited to see what these sound like! Will have to wait for some warmer weather for Goose to do the install.

I am at stock height and had issues in light snow I can't imagine being lowered. You may want to spray the underside of your lip/bumper with rock guard paint( kind of like bed liner) like I had done on my previous car to prevent plastic damage.

This weekend may or may not be warm enough to install (courtesy Talk2meGOOSE), but I am ready!

-Speaker cable (16 g)
-duct tape
-peel&stick roof flashing, aluminum
-electrical tape
-neoprene sheet (36"x48", enough to cover both doors)
-speakers

Today we got about halfway done with the time we had and the temperature out (40*F). Got the door woofers in, and the aluminum flashing in the doors and we also put it in the trunk around/on the IMA battery, under the spare tire.

What's left to install are the tweeters in the dash and the crossovers. I didn't even realize the kit I bought came with crossovers, so the door speakers will have to come out again when we install that part. No big deal, just a few clips and one long screw hold each door woofer in. Right now I have the bass and treble set to C to protect the woofers since the crossover isn't installed. Just a precaution given by Talk2meGOOSE's dad (ss2k something is his username, long time inactive user).

Today I asked my boyfriend to install the Diode Dynamics 5000K HIDs that they kindly sent me as a replacement because my last ones both exploded at the same time. This pair have a very crisp edge to the light compared to last time, so maybe that's a good sign. He wore gloves and all that, just like the first pair. If these explode too, then I give up. -_-

On a bad note, I noticed today that my driver Clazzio has a 2 inch long crack in the vinyl (black colored) portion of the butt cushion. They are more than 3 years old now, and vinyl is not as pliable as leather (the red perforated part), and my butt is big, so I can't be too upset. I do have a plastic welder thing (Google: Bondic), and since vinyl is a form of plastic I may try to close up the crack with it. :ionono:

Another bad note, turns out I bought the wrong kind of neoprene. He just told me "sheet of neoprene", but what I needed specifically was a foamy kind - "volarafoam". So I'm not sure if I can return the sheets I already bought, but I guess I'll find out. They were $52 after shipping..

Photos from today:

Oem vs Blaupunkt

Magnet difference

Peeled back the white plastic to apply some flashing inside the door

The flashing is applied to the metal closest to the outside

There are several holes to stick your hand through to reach the outer metal layer of the door

I didn't take a photo with the flashing on, but this is the IMA under the spare tire:
