The best fix is a complete replacement handle assembly from Honda, as long as they are still available. Comes painted and bolts right in. That said it's been a couple of years since I replaced mine this way so I don't know what the current supply situation is.
At that time I was able to get the part from an online Honda parts dealer for about $120 plus tax/shipping and labor was zero since I changed it myself. A dealer or shop will probably charge 1-2 hours to do it plus the cost of the part which will be the current list price.
There are threads here discussing other repair options, but these may not be practical for everyone and it also depends on what part of the handle has actually failed. They can break in a few different ways.

thanks for the info appreciate it.

This lists a bunch depending on color...I chose the drivers side, not sure what side you need. I have a 2016 and ordered mine direct from Japan through impexjapan, it was cheaper that way. I just took the part number from honda parts now

I find it very useful in researching parts and have purchased from them on occasion but my advice is research there, then take your part numbers to other online honda parts sites. I usually can find the parts slightly cheaper BUT most importantly, can find much better shipping rates vs. Hondapartsnow. For example saved like 22 dollars in shipping by taking my part numbers over to hondapartsconnection.

Useful tip, thanks! There’s a few projects I’d like to start up and the price is a killer for some of these parts
A lot of the OEM parts sites are the same company (Genuine Parts Giant, Inc.) including HondaPartsNow.
HondaPartsConnection is Brannon Honda in Alabama.

Personally, i've always liked Majestic Honda (hondaautomotiveparts) as they actually list their mailing address and have some amount of customer service.
They also ship really fast too.
There is also a new one here in Texas since 2021. I haven't had a chance to use them yet.
I just recently had my driver side door handle repaired. I paid $251 from a private mechanic in Maryland. He did use OEM parts. I would post the receipt except it’s in my glove compartment and the latch on the glove compartment just broke :)
Great car, runs great. Starting to get issues with accessory’s.

Guess I'm getting a new SILVER left outer door handle, too. $147.82 total incl taxes, fees, shipping to IL, bummer. Anyone have a useful promo-code for HondaPartsConnection.com ? Anyone have a less expensive source? Thanks in advance.

Id confirm the part number I entered is the one you need. THis is through impex Japan. If youve never dealt with them shipping can be high but for small items maybe not so bad. Thing is you wont know the shipping cost until after you pay them, they will email you to make payment for shipping after they recieve and repack your part. Ive used them for quite a few things including a drivers side door handle.

Thanks for the heads-up on IMPEX JAPAN. Good deal if one has time for the order to fill & ship. I placed the order, $56.08 US + approx $20 shipping later, I think. Interesting how I place the order & pay for the item, then later when the item is in their stock I'll then pay additionally for shipping. Not speedy, but significant savings compared to HondaPartsConnection.com & retail. Thanks much !

@akiraproject24 thanks for Impex Japan info! I just ordered a new driver's side door lock actuator for a little more than half of what I would've gotten here. Swanky!
