Item found by resibud (thank you!). From resibud:
Japanese site Rakuten. These are convex mirrors with integrated turn signals and heater.
The name of the person to contact is : Rin Yamakawa

Email: [email protected]
Rakuten site translated to English
My cost with heater/LED signal = 14070 Japanese Yen = $144.471 US Dollar (included shipping to Tennessee/paypal fee). To order, I sent an email to him in English and then used an online translator to translate to Japanese. I ordered mine on Aug. 15 and received delivery on Aug. 22. Great turn-around from Japan! Delivery requires signature.

Tools needed:
Trim tool (to pry off OEM mirror)
Philips screwdriver
Electrical tape
Pliers

Installation time:
I am guessing 15+ minutes for each mirror. I have to guess because I paused to take pictures for this DIY

Installation:
Working on the Left (driver's side) mirror: Remove OEM mirror. I used a trim tool. Pry up at the mirror bottom and pull out. Here is the back of the mirror after removal:

Before you remove the wires from the OEM mirror, mark the new mirror in accordance. One wire is solid black and the other is black w/a bit of white on it. I wrote "B" (for "black"), on the new mirror and "W" (for black/white).
**************************************************************

Back of new mirror:

**************************************************************

Remove the white plastic motor cover to give yourself some working room: Remove center screw and pull the white cover off. There are (2) "prongs" inside a greased rubber boot on the bottom and left side. Please see the "on edit" at the bottom of this DIY. Instead of removing the motor cover, you can remove the entire motor.

**************************************************************

Pull all the OEM colored and black/white heater wires from their retainer. You will be splicing into the pink and purple wires (OEM turn signal wires).

**************************************************************

Cut a short length of one of the supplied wire bundles. The length I cut was way too long but I wanted a lot of work room:

**************************************************************

Using the clamp connectors supplied, splice the
BLACK wire into the PINK oem wire
BLACK/WHITE wire into the PURPLE oem wire:

**************************************************************

Instructions that came with the mirrors:

**************************************************************

Take the wire bundle that you cut a length of and connect the BLACK to BLACK and BLACK/WHITE to BLACK/WHITE on the mirror:

**************************************************************

Connect the OEM heater wires to the new mirror. Remember your markings from the beginning (black and black/white). Slide the rubber cover back over the connection of the turn signal wires and apply electrical tape for insurance. I forgot to take a pic of it w/the electrical tape applied. Reinsert all the OEM wires back into the plastic retainer. Reinstall the white plastic motor cover. It's a little tricky. On the two "prongs" that slide into the two rubber boots, there is one tab that must be aligned with the slot:

**************************************************************

Test the turn signal and heater (turn on your rear defrost):

**************************************************************

If everything tests fine, (also test the mirror motor), mount the new mirror into the housing. Peak under and align the top clips with the slots and swing the mirror down. There are 4 tabs left to push in. Make sure you hear them click in.

**************************************************************

Hope this helps and if I have left anything out, please add-on.

on edit: resibud photo and advise. Instead of removing the white plastic motor cover and getting into the grease, remove the entire motor:

Yep, just did the passenger mirror and removing the entire motor is the way to go! Thanx again resibud.

Picked em up today. They tried to deliver yesterday but no one at home for the sig.. Weather is kinda of Sh!tty today and my garage is a mess with this years xmas stuff getting boxed up.. Maybe get em on this weekend. And follow RTS's DIY, the included instructions have ya taking the entire door panel and mirror assembly off.. LOL..

Nicely packaged and look to be the same convex as the T1Rs.

Scotty - make sure you drop the first clamp connector inside the housing like I did or they won't work :giggle:
 LOL - Gave me four of em, so I guess I get two free tries.. Question for ya.
You marked the heater connections since you were doing a direct replacement from the OEM. Since I have had T1Rs, My internal heater wires have just been hang'n so to speak. Looking down at the backside of the mirror. White/Black go on the outside pin and black on the inside or opposite??

At Hellionz- yep. Love the T1Rs (never have to look over my shoulder) but miss the defrost/heater and liking the LEDs..

ps - you will need all 4 clamp connectors - there are four splices

Thanks RTS.. :hi5:
Installed.. Straight forward. About 10-15 minutes a mirror. Pretty much the same as the T1R's. Not quite as a wide view IMO but need to take it out on the highway.

Need to thank RTS for the arithmetic issue I had.. LOL.. RTS, don't you dare tell on me..

I had mentioned I would sell my current T1R set, sorry but in an attempt to get a picture of the standard T1R with a friend holding next to this mirror, left side got dropped and that is that.. Should not of let him have that beer first.. LOL.. Cracked. Got a right side good mirror for free+free shipping if someone who already has the direct T1R replacement wants a spare right side.. If someone wants it, PM me.. Otherwise, they go into the recycle bin next week.

Pics. Or it's just a rumor

OK,, here ya go.. Really easy stuff.. Only issue was getting the mirror back on.. The previousT1R snapped on much easier. And a good idea to take some time to properly measure/cut the provided LED wiring so you don't have to tuck to much in and potentially block the motor. I might have to go back in and make em even a bit shorter.. Also, my OEM heater wires were not different in-as-much as color. Both were black and had white stripes. Had to play a little guessing game by hooking them up, turning on the defrost and seeing how they heated up.. No big deal..

I read your posts and I realized that I never thought to look if I put the wires of the heating element in the correct order. I thought that a heating element is roughly a "resistance" and it does not really should have polarity ... If ever it does not work I will refer to your photos! LOL

For the viewing angle of the driver's side, I adjusted my mirrors in the extreme limit until the mirror makes a noise (meaning it does not go far). The passenger side I adjusted until I lose sight of the back of the car. I tested everything on a 2-lane highway and asked my girlfriend to confirm if what I saw in my mirrors correspond to reality. After that ... I could trust my new mirrors.

I still look over my shoulder but never like before. Sometimes (with small cars) I hardly see the car, but looking over the shoulder and I immediately see the car.

I do not know if the T1R are like that ... it would be nice to see the comparison with photos of T1R mirror and "Factory-direct" mirror. So we expect the photos taken by Scotty!!! LOL

Yea, I think it is just resistance. I played around with them while turning on the rear defrost and pretty much the same results. The heating element is definitely designed to the left of the mirror. Probably as to not mess with the LEDs. True test will be in several months..

On the T1R comparison. Here is a pic with me doing it meself. Based on the Pic, it looks like this mirror may have a little better convex than the T1R.. But can be hard to judge doing this way.. I'm holding the T1R..

EDIT: Either way, this mirror is definitely about the same if not better.. Ima happy camper with this purchase..

And what happens if you drop a T1R from about 3 feet to concrete? This.. Dammit.. Sh!t happens..

Or yer a bumbling . . . jk!
What I like the best is the turn signal. I have a big grin when I have to turn
Wow, that looks good. If I get the courage to mess with wires in the future, this may happen! Nice job.

Hey, was trying to do it right when it dropped. Sitting in the car with the door shut to take a picture. Having someone else hold it kinda like I am in the pic.. She dropped it and that is my story and sticking to it.. All good tho..

And yea, I'm really liking the turn signals for a lot of reasons.. Looks great, functional and adds an additional safety feature when changing lanes etc..

Wiring the thing up was extremely easy. Anyone can do it..

My attempt to pick on you = FAIL

And yes to marcl211 - if I can do it, anyone can

What RTS really meant is that is Scotty can do it, anyone can.. :giggle: Attempt to pick on me.. Success..
Well that does it. U picked on yerself

I usually do when warranted.. Still a hold'n to not telling on me with the math issue associated with what does 2 + 2 equal.. LOL..
Um that's 2 X 2
