DIY - How to remove interior light covers and license plate lights (Bulb Replacement)

Hey people, it looks like Photobucket killed my old account out there. The photos I had posted for this are gone, and I don't have them anymore. Sorry... CRaZee

Bulb Size Chart.

Headlights (low beam):
HID- D4S D4S HID Bulbs - D4R HID Bulbs | Lexus Xenon Headlights | HID Light Bulbs *have not tested these yet!
Non EX- H11 96 SMD HID Xenon White H11 H8 H9 LED Driving Lamps Fog Lights Bulbs
Headlights (High beam/ DRL):
HB3 9005 LED Bulbs plus DRL Decoder For Acura Honda Daytime Running Light *have not tested these yet!
Fog Lights:
H11 96 SMD HID Xenon White H11 H8 H9 LED Driving Lamps Fog Lights Bulbs
Front Turn/Park lights:
7443 Dual Color Switch-Back 7443 7444 T20 LED Bulbs For Turn Signal Lights
Side Mirror Turn Signal:
LED
Brake/ Tail Light:
LED
Rear Turn Signal:
3156 18 SMD 3156 3157 LED Bulbs for Corner Light, Backup Light, Tail Light
Rear Side Marker Lights:
194 13-SMD 1210 T10 Car Automobile LED Light Bulbs 168 194 921 2825 I used a 5 SMD light on mine but this site does not have then in red from what I see, but these should work fine and will be brighter. These are behind a red lens so you should use a red LED.
Back Up Lights:
912 360¡ã 38 SMD T10 168 921 912 Bulbs for Parking, Side Door, Back up Lights
License Plate Lights:

i'd have to see it but if it's smaller than a T10 and the same shape and connector it might be a T5.

How did these bulbs work out for you? Seem bright enough? I'm interested.

Also, awhile back I think you tried installing GT yellow film on your fogs but overall was not impressed. What did you end up doing, keeping? removing? I ask because I ordered some Headlight Amor GT Yellow film for my fogs (not yet installed) but am now thinking these Hella bulbs alone might do... I could always reorder the clear film for protection. Just wondering how yellow on yellow might look/perform, especially on my PWP...? Any comment or suggestion would help.

...Still unsure about switching out the interior lights. But I feel with the exterior lights (License and HID's) better matched it will look extremely nice at night.

Do it! After doing it, you come to find how really ugly the stock dingy white ones are. Just makes it very clean inside if that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply borcth. I am considering it. And I do like a clean look. My only concern is that the individual lights are too bright. A clean and yet still subtle look is what I would want.

How would you describe the brightness compared to stock lighting?

Thanks for the tips and photos - great write up. I swapped out all my bulbs yesterday and with the help of your post I had all the interior lights done in less than 10 mins!

considering i changed all mine to Blue you can't really compare lol. but i'll try getting pics of the blue effect at night cus it's really cool

Thanks for the DIY on this, just ordered mine off ebay, blue for interior, white for cargo area and license plate, pics to come.

I wouldn't recommend these Who in their right mind would pay that?

Noob here, I've never done this before and I need a little help. I am having trouble with the license plate and under doors ones. I can get the trim off fine but cannot figure out how to get out the bubl and I don't want to just start yanking on them.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

They are friction fit.. so yea, they are tight. Just pull them directly away from the socket.... straight out... carefully....

Below is a link to a picture of a t10 bulb... so you can see the base.... should let you understand how it fits...

Thanks for the advice. I just didn't want to smash the bulbs between my fingers and end up going to the emergency room because I wanted some pretty lights in my car.

I used a small screwdriver to pry mine out.. just catch it on the plastic sticking out of the socket, use your hand as a pivot... shouldn't be too hard. If you have some Hemostats.. they will work too..

License Plate Light

License Plate Light

at the rear of the car... look up above the license plate area.... you can use a screwdriver (with tape on it.. or use a piece of cloth on it to avoid scratches) and hook the slot in the lens and pop it off.. and change the bulb. I haven't done this, but the info is in the manual (Thanks, TinTin!)



Obviously... to put any of the above back.. reverse the process.....


Anyone can show how to remove the light?

I've been having trouble finding the dome light bulbs, I ordered a set from superbrightleds but they where way to big. Anyone have a link to the Festoon LEDs we need? Thanks!
