My son Goose and I did it to his car last month. It is loud, and induces hellacious laughter while driving, but he made it one day and put it back on. It sounds like Shiite.:bored:

I did this mod too and IMO it sounds great but I see some here don't like the sound, guess its not for everyone but I can tell you this, I'm a middle aged guy who was into muscle cars and always hated the "can of bee's" that Honda's sounded like with cannon muffler installed and this mod sounds NOTHING at all like that. Hey, if you wanna spend HUNDERED AND I MEAN HUNDREDS of dollars on exhaust systems for this car only to sound as good or in some cases quieter and make no more power, by all means, go right ahead and do that, I mean you can impress everyone with that shiny muffler underneath there:p

I chose to go this route because I thought the money could be better spent elsewhere, like 2nd cat delete and intake. This mod should make a "tad" more power and does cut down weight, for those of you looking to do whatever it takes to be lighter.

I unbolted it and drove for a day. I had fumes coming in the car so the next day we welded a pipe to a flange and stopped the tip before the diffuser. It was tucked up so you couldn't see but driving at 3k rpm (which is highway cruising for me) droned like hell and gave me a headache (I've had 3 cars with exhaust and never had that issue). Muffler went back on the next week. It sounded sick ripping on it in the higher rpm and was getting better MPG, but I couldn't stand the drone. I think if I extend it like an actual muffler out the back it'll be better cause the rear is vented for the hybrid battery which wasn't helpping the drone at all and also made it louder in cabin cause of the hollow well the battery sits in (not to mention the awesome quiet cabin we have lmao, I think the cabin noise is louder than my old gutted ef hatch I had with just 1 seat and a dash.

Yeah, mine and others have extended it out the back and even added a tip, I don't have the problem of drone but then again, a loud exhaust isn't for everyone. I wonder how much of a real difference there is in the CVT and 6MT systems? This could also have something to do with it. I'm looking forward to doing the 2nd cat delete in the spring, more power and mpg coming my way!!!

I met up with a member on here that has a cvt. Its completely different cause they cruise at a lower rpm. I just didn't want mine to go pass the rear diffuser I like the stealth look, but that's also probably why it was so loud crusing. On the cvt I held it at 3k in sport (he has the whole p2r setup) and it was stupid loud lol. I'm going to redo that piece we welded on my car and stick out further and turn it down and see how that works out.

Studytuned. I have a video in car driving but it didn't pick up the exhaust noise very much. Do it for yourself to get an idea. It's 2 bolts and 2 rubber hangers.

Yes indeed.

I like it stock quiet.

If I mess up a shift, don't need the world to know about it.
You've got nothing to blame when you get beat by a WRX then.

I ran muffler-delete on my Mazda3 for its whole life and I guess I got used to the drone.

It sounded great. I either suffer from a small hearing loss after one week but I think it definitely did get quieter. The noise is dependent on air conditions like temperature and humidity I think. The thing is, with a muffler-delete, there is a drop in back pressure which will impact the car's performance negatively. There's lag in engine response and perhaps a slight drop in power too.

Anyhow, on my list of to-do until I get Noblesse.

I had a Honda Del Sol that I removed the CAT on and did a CAI and "CAT"back exhaust.

2-3 hours at a time is all I could take of it after the first year of replacing the rusted out stock parts. I think I will just do the typhoon intake and call this car good.

This seems like a nice, inexpensive way to get a little sound out of a pretty quiet car. I recently traded in my 2005 RSX-S for a CR-Z, and I've noticed I bog the engine down when starting to move because not only am I not use to the drive by wire, but I can barely hear the exhaust note. Which to some can be a good thing, but I like to drive by sound.

Though this seems like it would be pretty loud, I ran Buddy Club Spec II on my RSX And that was basically a straight pipe and it got annoying after a while, so I changed it up for the GReddy Evo II, and couldn't have been happier. I'd probably end up saving for a catback, but this seems like a pretty sweet DIY.
