CRZ-2013 Drive Modes not Working

Dear All
My 2013 Cr-z Recently not functioning with drive modes. it simply not changing with mode buttons. but car drive fine as usual like i am in Normal mode

FYI - i have a damaged Oxygen sensor (2nd sensor) cable is it related to this symptom?

Might have to back-up, and let us know some more information..., such as other factors that caused the o2 sensor wire to fail, or what led you to the o2 sensor/wiring as the cause.

There is an under-dash fuse that you might check/replace (B12 [IG IMA] 10 A fuse,) but here's a list of DTC's and related troubleshooting pages to look up in the service manual:

P0137 pg. 11-114
P0138 pg. 11-116
P0139 pg. 11-118
P0141 pg. 11-117

If you don't have the service manual, I'll post a link here, if I can find it....or just click on my build thread link below, and there's a link on the first page, near the end of my mod listings.

Hello Guys,

Today i installed a new sensor (denso) with full of hopes and end of the installing technicians OBD scanner couldn't clear the code , so he remove the battery ground terminal & cleared the code.
and everything came back to normal and i drove around 5 KM and i stoped the car and start the car again

check engine appeared again!!!

what will be the reason, technician said sensor not receiving currant , he sayed may be cause of faulty ECU,

is it real?????

pls guys help me , im not in a finance situation to change a ECU

From what I can find, there should be a DTC to track down to better diagnose the problem. Can you get the DTC for the error, or call the technician to let you (me) know what DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is? The sensor and wire to the connector is new, so it is either not receiving current from where it plugs into that connector, which leads to the ECM, or if you hit something hard enough to break the sensor/wiring, then I'm wondering if it was a hard enough hit to crack/damage the exhaust manifold and/or one of the catalytic converters. Bottom line, I need a DTC error code to even come up with any other suggestions that might help, otherwise, it's guess work.

If the p0420 is the only code you're getting, the first thing to check is that you have good quality fuel. I figure that's a long shot, but possible. I haven't had that code myself, but just going from the service manual, and they jump right into installing a new (expensive) catalytic converter as a test for the failed cat. Nothing like a service manual / system that wants you to throw parts at the problem. <grrrrrrr> :(
Perhaps someone who's had the the problem before can chime in--sorry for the lack of an easy/cheap fix, other than clean/quality fuel.
Litz, if this was yours would you try something like a high quality fuel system cleaner or Seafoam or one of the emissions cleaners, etc?
Yes, or at least (clear all codes and) run a "Top Tier" brand of gas for a couple of tank fulls before forking out any money for a new part to "test" a theory.
Another issue that I'd check into, is with the o2 sensor and wiring/connector itself. One thing that I tend to do with wire connectors that I have removed/unclipped for some reason or another, is to put a little dab of dielectric grease into the back of the connectors where the wires enter. But, make sure you DON'T do that! As I understand it, the o2 sensor wire path needs a clear passage for air--clean, outside air--to enter the sensor chamber for its comparison of o2 in the exhaust flow. Putting dielectric grease or extra electrical tape around the connectors with defeat the proper function of the sensor/wiring. [Any professional tech/mechanic out there is invited to clear my thinking on this issue, if necessary.]
