Anything announced about car weight yet?? Imagine it will be light as its a little 2 seater. Don't think the crx weighed that much so think the crz would be close to its weight, no?

I've read 2800 pounds for the CRZ. Just speculation I assume

Pretty heavy....I remember my CRX only being around 1900 (ok I lied I google searched it) but still, CRX is much lighter.

Is the extra all 'hybrid weight' ?

Unfortunately (for gas milage at least) cars have gotten much heavier over the past decade or so. Much higher safety standards, NVH reduction measures, and options have all driven up weight.

A Geo Metro from the late eighties (for example) got close to fifty MPG. A Metro wouldn't be your car of choice if you had to be in an accident, though.

I'm sure all the 'hybrid' components also add to all that extra safety weight and such also. If Honda can still get 45+ mpg on a 2800 pound car, props to them

In the Nov. 2009 issue of Road & Track (pg. 108) Sam Mitani, International Editor who has a close relationship with Honda management in Japan, states, "making the 2550 lb car a genuine pocket rocket." He goes on to say, "not bad for a cae that'll run to 60mph in less than 8 seconds."

Other auto mags have speculated on a weight of 2700-2800 lb. Let's hope Sam is correct on this one.

That 60mph in less than 8 seconds is definitely new news, past reports were at 9 seconds. Again, all rumors though but its nice to get some 'rough estimates' this early.

I can't see it being anywhere over 2800 pounds. My guess is 2400lbs

My guess is 2100, just over the 2000 pound mark.

The lighter the better. Not to technical about what a 'light' weight would be but I suspect the hybrid engines would be heavier from a normal engine. Given the cars small size I suspect it will all balance out and be lighter then most cars.
