Can a snowboard fit inside?

Has anyone tried fitting a snowboard into the trunk with the rear storage area down? Is it possible, or is a roof-rack required for that sort of thing? Also, how does the CR-Z handle going up mountains and hills and stuff? Is there sufficient torque to go up at a decent clip, or will I have to pull over to the side every now and then to let traffic pass?

Could you maybe post a picture? Can you have a passenger while fitting two boards?
