Bottom right display shows numbers for speed?

Hi,
I've only just bought my 2012 1.5 CR-Z Sport (6 speed manual) the other week and noticed that when I get up to 30mph it displays a 1 on the small screen on the right of the speedometer and makes a noise to alert me of the speed, it also displays a 2 when I get up to 50mph and makes the same noise. Does anybody know what this is? I've not been able to find anything on online manuals and my car never came with one.
Thanks in advance.

I believe this is the feature you are looking for. It is the up shift light? The up-shift light

All markets have a web site where you can access the owners manual for free. The US Website is Honda Owners Site | Tips, Tools & Benefits for Honda Owners I believe other UK members have mentioned your local site. A little searching I found Owners | Services For Honda Car Owners | Honda UK and specifically My Honda | Owner's Manual | Honda Auto but CR-Zs are not listed. You can also purchase any of the glove compartment books & the Factory Service Manual for 2010-12 from Honda CR-Z 2012 but it is a US source I presume that similar exists for UK. A dealer can also order them for you.

Hi,
I appreciate the help with the manual, I've had a look through a couple of the online ones but probably best to get a paper one after all. I belive the upshift light your talking about is the green arrow on the left side of my speedo (might be different I'm the American model) the display I'm talking about is orange warning display on the bottom right side but thank you for you help

Any pictures of what is on display as you describe? This is interesting, maybe a failing eeprom in the cluster.

It is a setting to alert to speeds. At least you can disable it. Why you would want this I have no Idea. It might be something the UK government wanted or just something for other markets other than the US. I presumed it was the shift light ( I have a CVT so I would not know but have seen similar in other cars). There are lots of differences between markets this is why if you have no books in the glove compartment I highly recommend getting them either electronically or ordering them. Being most of us are in the US we presume what we have all markets have but as we have found out this is wrong. There are lots of differences between markets, trims and years. I would find it frustrating to have no manuals and do not understand why they do not stay with the car when sold.

Glad this mystery is resolved. Someone might want to add this to the ABCs thread.

Not everything is a failure some things are just features we are not aware of. (like the auto locks at 9 MPH)

EU just passed a regulation about a speed warning inside the vehicle. I believe the feature talked about in this thread was the precursor to this regulation
