I've already found that outside of almost 100% flat country, eco mode on the highway harms mpg - and I'm only on my second tank.

I could see how sport mode could help mpg in the Poconos and Appalachians. I usually put premium in my older cars when I start getting into the mountains, and it keeps my mpg level, rather than losing mpg on regular.

If I hypermile in sport mode I can fairly easy get all 8 bars, but usually I have 6-7.
hypermile in sport mode? never thought about it but what kind of mileage do you manage to pull on that?

sport tends to keep the rps above 3k plus the added fuel flow ... kinda kills the point to hyper mile ...i think anyways i could be wrong on this last part
For the CVT I don't think it would won't work. Since I have the stick, the rpms don't change.

I can get in the low 50s on long trips. That's not going faster than 55mph.
