It all seems to be quite of a headache to wire that thing to the CR-Z, especially when you have the subwoofer with the Pioneer Amp.

I'm on the fence but I'm really afraid to bust something, so any good details on the installation would be a huge help. Those wires that need to be modified particularly worry me.

Also, for the users of this Teyes system, are you happy with it ? Sound quality, functionalities, ease of use, etc.

If it worries you too much just take it in and for 100 bucks a shop would do it for you and they wont give you back the car unless its done.

I am 101% happy with the unit. One of the best upgraded ive ever done to a vehicle. Sound is incredible, i dont know how but it increased the sound a lot.

The install was not bad. As HalfbitZero mentioned, connecting the correct wire to power up the amp was the main issue I found with my install. Otherwise it was plug an play. I didn't realize that I had to turn on the Amp setting in the head unit. For my car, the Key 2 wire on the harness was the correct wire.

The 2 other caveats were the hazard light and the airbag light.

The hazard light doesn't fit without modification to the bezel. The buttone below is not exactly the same, but similar. See how the 2 wings are not at the same height. In the included bezel, the attachment points are also not the same height, BUT, they are reversed. I tried installing it upside down, but the button is not quite centered, so it didn't line up with the hole. Instead I decided to trim the bezel attachment points so the button lines up in the correct orientation.

Next was the Passenger airbag light. The mounting points don't line up at all, so I had to trim the bottom grey part and then fashion some brackets to hold it in place. They do include a cover plate if you don't want to mount it.

Overall, The install wasn't bad at all. rigging up the button and the airbag light is easy. If I knew about the setting in the headunit and which wire to connect it would have been super easy.

I haven't driven enough to give a through review. I have to pull the unit out to properly mount the external mic. I can take some pics of how I mounted the button and airbag light when I do that.

This Teyes is the sh!t! In a good way. Its fkn awesome.

- Its Chinese. But Chinese are doing some technology! Look at all the android tablets and phones they have top notch technology. A good Chinese brand.

- I personally use my phone just to give it wifi, i turn on my hotspot and connect the dash on it. You can also buy a sim card for it if you don't have hotspot to share.

- it will fit the 2012, mine is a 2014, same thing, mine had no nav from stock.

- i am not knowledgeable (that's a tough one to spell) enough to answer the last question. All I know is that it had all the right cables and stuff for my oem amp and man it sounds so much higher than before.

After I paid off the balance on my Iphone I dumped ATT. I got the full bells and whistles plan with T Mobile with 3 sims for less than what I was paying with ATT. I have a spare sim for the T'eyes unit so when my son can afford the unit it will be fitted.

The factory unit with the sub is very very good so I'd be fine with it if it was my car. I'm paying for the car and I just dropped a bag of sand ($1000) for the gearbox replacement. As he'll be getting it once he has his license, I'm making him pay for it.

@Vferroni Any updates? Did you get everything to work? Someone should write a DIY for this particular head unit. I've noticed more people asking about the Android head units in other threads too, there seems to be a lot of confusion with the wiring. I want to know wiring details before making a purchase on this.

I will 100 percent do a write up…with pictures and the entire nine. Install is pretty straight forward once you get it sorted. I know everyone says that, but it’s really quite simple… I have to modify the passenger airbag port and hazard port first before a full diy write up.

As of right now I’m trying to solve the hazard and passenger airbag installation as the head unit bezel quite frankly sucks molding wise. I’m think model magic or epoxy putty for the mounting points. I have everything working in the car just not fully packaged…stay tuned. If anyone needs help asap, just message me.

3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive is pretty good for holding plastic pieces together, I've used this for my emblems and fog light covers, it's almost like super glue. It should work well for the hazard and passenger airbag piece, just don't add too much as it is quite messy and dries really quick.

I can't find it, but I remember seeing a picture someone uploaded on a different thread where it showed what they did to attach the hazard button and airbag bracket piece, I think they had just used some small screws but can't exactly remember.

Read 4 pages of Teyes CC3 installation is not too clear regarding the AMP wires connection. From all the thread connect the KEY2 and AMP CON wires together. Is it correct? There is no explanation on how to set the Teyes CC3 AMP. My CR-Z has NAV & Pioneer AMP. There are extra plugs with no connection to the Teyes harness. See attached pictures.

Have you figured out a solution? I'm still waiting for someone to give a full detailed explanation with pictures showing every important part for this particular Android head unit installation. There still seems to be some confusion about certain wire connections. Obviously, the big difference being between NAV and non-NAV CR-Zs. I'm still on the fence whether I should buy it now or wait until someone explains exactly how to install this Teyes unit, mainly the proper wire connections.

I had the non nav and all that needs to be done is connect the keys2 with the acc red wire coming from the main harness into the headunit, to get sound. The steering wheel controls are really basic install of the canbus box and then in the headunit you put the vehicle model, but instead use the crv 2012.
Unfortunately the full write up has been delayed due to me working about 80 hrs a week at a major airline, we’re short sorry. I’ll get to it.

I'm getting hissing sound from speakers with nothing playing. Also speaker popping sound when turning Teyes CC3 on/off. I order Teyes Power Filter, $18.19 including shipping no tax. We'll see if it work.

I finally got the SWC working. I went to Setting, Car Model, CanBus Settings, Selected: RZC-HONDA-CRV-Select 2012. Boom SWC working. There is no CRZ had to select CRV.
