Pismo!!
Yea, the east is a little far for my wallet, that a 2 day drive each way, then the 2-3 days staying there, that's already a week, so yea I'll stick to west coast haha if I was closer it would be no problem but it's just too far sorry :/Or you guys could all just come south east a couple thousand miles..

Don't sue me bro for not asking :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We'll just make it 1 day since multiple days was too complicated. This is the 1 day that we all meet up and we can coordinate accordingly on who's staying a night..etc.
Since it's down south, you guys from Sac probably will end up meeting us East Bay / SF/ guys probably in San Jose or Dublin as a meeting point. Depends if we are taking the 101 or the 5 on the location chosen.

Yea, that could be a very big problem hahahaI'd think Avalon would be cool, but getting the cars across would be quite the challenge!!![]()
I see where you are coming from, and the dates are not set into stone, as you may recall this year's was suppose to be on July 4th but that was too difficult for everyone to attend due to it being a family day and obviously the CRZ isn't a family vehicle. So I changed it to Aug 1st, and at first not realizing it was the same day as the Dragon meet, till later.I can see this getting out of hand already...
OK, I'm making some decisions here...
First, the meet at the Tail of the Dragon is NOT the "official" CR-Z meet. It's the Dragon Meet and that's it. The fact that Carzee called it the official meet, is why the West Coast people wanted to play "me too" on the Dragon Meet in the first place. Let's just call the meets exactly what they are: the Dragon Meet and the Cali Meet. There is no "official" meet and no one should claim their meet as such.
Second, the West Coast people need to change the date of their meet. It's already causing friction again and the date is isn't essential to their plans. The Dragon Meet is more established and has priority on that date. A completely different month would be ideal, which is easier for those in California with more pleasant year round weather... Please just have it at a different time so we can be done with the issue...
Thank you for your compliance everyone.
No one from the west coast showed up. After I posted the recap thread I've had a few people from out west say they will try to make the trip next year. The date can be changed, but my question is:
What is that going to do, how many people from cali/west coast attended the dragon this past year?
Are those people even going to attend the dragon meet next year knowing that there is going to a West Coast meet next year, around summer?
Well like I said, I am always open to suggestions, and I personally wouldn't mind having a meet that far as long as we could get a better commitment from attendees.Well, not to tell you guys how to do your business, but can I make a suggestion that basically changes the entire format of this meet? I honestly would try to make it out West if you guys are down with it... As of now your meet has no "interstate" appeal at all; it honestly looks like just another regular local car meet in California. There is no purpose other than to meet each other. Hardly anyone is going to make the effort to travel across state lines just to pose for pictures...
For me, meets like the Dragon Meet are all about carving up some curvy roads out in the wild... Twisty roads that do not stop... Places that are unique and surprisingly rare... Something exciting and dangerous... The Dragon is not the only place like this and it is debatable whether it is the best...

I have done that loop before when I had my Ducati and lived in Arizona... It was pretty badass out there... This is on par with the Dragon, except this is more of a secret than the Dragon is and a little bit more remote... If I remember correctly, the roads were really well maintained too.
Does anyone out West want to have a run at anything like that?
OK I hear where you are coming from on the dates perspective, but my question wasn't if anybody would attend on the exact dates, it was for the general summertime. so if we held ours in the summer (dates not too close to yours) do you think the more west guys/gals would still show for your meet too? That's what my question really was, just think for a moment, you can take 1 vacation for the summer and it's between an area closer or further, which are you going to choose? Of course the one that's closer, being that is only judged based on distance and not location, attendees, etc.No one from the west coast showed up. After I posted the recap thread I've had a few people from out west say they will try to make the trip next year.
Also you answered your own question , they probably won't show up next year to dragon because you have the same exact date. There is no reason for you to have the same date as dragon, you guys have good weather all year around and can choose any weekend in the spring or fall.
