I'm new to this...

Hello, I have a 2015 Honda CRZ, I have no clue about wheel specs but wheels are going to be my first mod I want to do. Due to my front bumper being messed up on the bottom. I can't lower it so I have to keep it stock height and go with a bigger wheel size. My friend is selling is Advans RG2's 18x8 in the front and 18x8.5 on the rear on 255/45/18. We only test fitted the passenger rear side and it looks good and no rubbing but my friend suggested to change the tires to 225 instead? If I do decide buy it. We couldn't completely put it on due one of his tire thread being gone and no tuner lugs. I would be only using these wheels for special occasions like shows & meets then I would throw back on the stock wheels. I know it would make the car slower and probably less mpg. What should I do?

1. Check out the extensive and comprehensive wheel and tire fitment threads.
2. Disregard any and all other advise from this forum and just do whatever makes you happy. It's your car.
Welcome and Congrats!

Welcome to the Forum, and follow Fedie's advice:
Putting wheels on just for show/car shows should give you a little more leeway on fitment, since with 18" you'll (possibly) have some rubbing without trimming the edges of the rear bumper/fender, but lowering it an inch or less won't really make as much difference in scrapping the underside of the front bumper as it will mess with fender well clearance if you're driving it hard (but, you'll be taking it easy to the shows and looking cool, eh?)
