Question Correct CRZ Floor Mat Clips

Hi all again from Wales

I recently bought a set of tailored rubber mats for my 2011 CRZ as I had to retire the old OEM ones due to condition/wear, but wanted rubber instead of carpet this time. I purchased a tailored set from eBay, however the clips seem different to the ones I previously had, and don't seem to fit. Sadly, I've already got rid of the old clips to compare now.

I was wondering if anyone could confirm the appearance (and maybe even dimensions) of the correct sized clips please? The ones I have been provided which are built in to the new mats seem to have a large capsule shaped hole, but are too thick for the clip to slide on top (if that makes sense!).

Looks like I have been supplied mats with the wrong clips but would be great to advise them what the correct ones should be, as their service hasn't been that helpful so far.

Thanks!

Personally, I havenít tried this product bellow yet but it seems to receive good reviews. I think I will try it out after I am tired of my current carpet that has been shifting around all the time... which can be dangerous.

I love the Maxpiders.

The factory clips are a turnbuckle affair, rectangular keys which fit through the receiver in the mat and then are rotated 90į to secure them.

The clips in Defiant's picture above are the "Floormat holders." They slip into the hole in the mats, which have a top(A) and bottom(B) that clips together. You might want to just order the OEM parts and retro-fit to your new mats.

Floormat holder:
83650-TL2-A01ZA (attaches to the carpet)

Floormat Grommet A:
83651-TL2-A01ZA

Floormat Grommet B:
83652-TL2-A01

Thanks everyone. Ok so I think I used the wrong vocabulary to describe what I mean. I have the holders in place on the carpet. But it looks like it’s the grommets on my tailored mats that may be wrong. Unless I’m being really daft here! The holders just won’t twist onto the grommet, it seems that either the grommet is too thick or there should be a circular hole instead I’m not quite sure.

Does anyone have photos of the correct grommets on their OEM or tailored mats by any chance please?

If they’re definitely not the right fit I’ll let the seller know. Of course I can fit the right grommets on myself if I order them, but they should be provided to me from the seller.

The other solution is perhaps I’m doing something wrong when trying to connect the mats to the holders on the carpet...

My extra grommets are packed up somewhere on the extra parts shelf, but I got a chance to clean the winter grime off my mats today and thought I'd post a pic of the OEM and WeatherTech mat's grommets:

I’m jealous my Weather Tech’s have no grommets 🙁. They have domes over the hold down.

I have tried the 3D MAXpider mats, and I think they are very good. They have the clips in the right place to keep them from sliding, but the backing on the map also grabs onto the carpet. I also got the mat for the cargo area, and it seems to absorb some of the road noise from the rear as well.

Thanks for the feedback and good to hear from a real user. I mainly concern if the floor mat sliding around. I gutted out the rear cargo area haha

Thanks for the comments and photos, they were helpful!

I managed to get in touch with the seller I purchased from and they sent me the correct grommets, and now they fit! Woo!

I can post a close up photo of the grommets if its any use to anyone.
