just throwing it out there.
i guess it would only really apply to those who live in either really dusty or perhaps area w/ snow, but the only thing i could see possibly becoming an issue is not having enough pressure on the wiper blade to cut through the gunk/snow, etc.
a 20" blade is 25% longer than a 16", you're effectively reducing the amount of pressure per inch of the blade by that much.
how this translates to real world performance difference, i dunno. wiper blade brand and type would probably make a bigger difference anyways. there is also more surface area for the blade to catch if you use them at higher speeds, though, likely unaffected at any legal speed limits.
for those who seldom use it, or just for rain applications, i don't see why not.
