How’s it going everyone? I have a 2015 EX 6-Speed with 12k on the clock. I got it back in June with 7k on it.

My question would be, does the HVAC systems in these cars suck or is it just me? I’m up in cold New England. I have the heat set to MAX for temp and fan speed and the car seems to never get hot inside. Previous cars I have owned could make me sweat in negative degree weather.

Also, in the summer the AC seems to only blow cool air on max settings. Just like the heat, other cars I have owned could get it cold enough to see my breath in the summer.

The AC compressor is turning on. I don’t think anything is actually wrong. Is the HVAC system just terrible in these things? I’m still on the factory warranty so I might have them check it out next time I bring it in. I won’t bother bringing it up if that’s just how it is though.

Thanks!

I also have a 2015 EX 6MT, and previously a 2014 EX-Nav CVT. The A/C system on both is a little on the weak side but still should blow pretty cold. it's always kept me from sweating in the summer, except during auto-stop. As far as heat, I usually have mine set at 68 on Auto and within 10 minutes I'm ready to take my jacket off, and it's been low teens to single digits when I get done work at night most of this winter. CVT heat was just as good. You have the warranty, use it.

I have a 2012 CRZ and agree the HVAC is poor. Always have cold feet and the A/C just keeps up. I thought they would make improvements along the way but low sales numbers probably prevented it. My car is great except for that.

Are you running the A/C when the car is on “econ” mode?

One thing to check is your cabin air filter (the one in the glove box). If that's clogged up/dirty you won't get your air(hot or cold) to circulate like it should.
Spdbump and Scott Plantier like this.

I'm afraid you'd have to ask those around you about your personal qualities.

The Z has a great deal of glass, and a small engine. Heating is easy, but cooling can be a challenge. Try it out here when it's 114. Still, given a long enough run, about a half-hour or so, it seems able to keep the inside comfortable.
