HPD supercharger on a CVT

What is the possibility of doing an HPD supercharger on a CVT model with a Hondata tune? Is there any physical incompatibility or will the supercharger bolt up perfectly to the CVT version?

The engine is the same, but I'm not sure about the ECU compatibility or whether the CVT is durable enough for it.

These are the directions for the supercharger install. Looks like it is a direct fit even if it is on a CVT model. Only issue would be getting a tune for the car. HPD may have excluded the CVT model due to the possibility of the CVT failing with the supercharger kit. Would be an interesting build though to see someone do an HPD supercharger on a CVT. If I can't get a Sprintex then I may look into this if possible or do an HKS.

I asked a similar question of @litz when he got his HPD CR-Z so hopefully he can shed some more light on this subject for you. Iirc, it's the ECU that's the limiting factor(although theory also points to the CVT itself). You have to send your stock ECU to HPD for them to program, and they only do it for the 6MT. There may be other work-arounds, but that's on you to find.

I was thinking about putting the HPD in my CVT, but later found a 6-Speed of the same year/options/color and lower mileage, so I kept the Sprintex with the CVT and put the HPD in the 6-Speed. My tuner said he'd be able to handle the tuning (for the HPD in the CVT with KTuner,) but the physical incompatibility is mainly with the routing of the piping around the (larger) transmission. I have no more insight other than that eye-ball comparison. I could take another look in both engine bays and maybe take some pics of the problem areas, if you think it might help.

Yeah, you can ask HPD directly, if this number is still good--661 294-7300--but you're pretty much on your own. If you have a 2011-2012, you'll need hondata; 2013+, you'll need KTuner and an authorized KTuner tuner/tech and dyno. Who know about the CVT? I've been testing it out with the Sprintex and no rubber bands have snapped yet!
