So doesn't seem like the shop you took it to wanted to really try to install it. This test pipe uses a design that isn't exactly the same as the factory design but works none the less. Basically the flat flange still sits on the donut and you use the supplied hardware to hold it together. I know it works because thats how I installed it on my car, it was the test pipe on the Greddy downpipe (which has the same design as the OEM header) and then the OEM header itself. I tested it myself just to make sure it worked and it did.

The reason we went with this design is because it works with the OEM header and aftermarket headers so it doesn't limit the design. Honestly some shops don't want to touch things that they don't do themselves, but I can guarantee that it'll work. If you want I can get some pictures to show how it would work?

Test Pipe to the OEM style header using the donut design. As you can see the factory donut acts like a gasket. It's not the same design as the OEM one but none the less it works without any problems as I tested on my car.

Good to know, I was holding off install until this was verified. Thank you for the explanation and pictures. And please disregard my somewhat snarky FB post. 🙂

Attached pic is from the Kami Speed facebook page. Post #33 above has 2 more. So far that's all I've found, hopefully someone can post a couple more to be helpful.

If I ever get around to installing it I'll let you know. Hopefully someone gets theirs done soon and can give us a sound clip.

I received mine yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It's a really well-made piece!

Now I'm holding thumbs for a header...
