Replacing OEM hood beacuse...moved to tech/exterior

...with the chips and small dent I have on my black 2013 hood, it will cost $550 to have repaired. Was thinking that I may well replace with carbon fiber at that point? Thoughts? Any experience with this issue? And can i just do it all at home? Thanks for the advice! Was hoping to get one that would just swap in but seems lie most need pins?

moved this to tech/exterior

I have a Seibon TS, which I had paint matched to my PWP, but didn't add hood pins. You might contact Rusbucket for his carbon fiber hood, since he's parting out (from Canada.)
I don't see it listed, but that doesn't mean it's not for sale.

The hood pin requirement is often because the aftermarket world doesn't do a good enough job of re-enforcing the hood latch area to keep the hood from breaking at the latch and whizzing up to wallop the windshield.

I've not heard this complaint in the Z world, but the aftermarket hoods aren't as widespread here. It was a common problem on Eclipse/Talon hoods.
