Not specifically the Type R, but this article suggests that the 2016Civic hatch will be coming to N. America, and is to be built in Swindon UK:

Civic hatch may return to Canada: rumour | Autonet.ca

Sorry about all the Canadian references. It comes with the territory.

There was talk about this and it is considered a Kei car. I know not everybody is into speed but they only have 64hp and 77ft-lb torque. Good shell though.

Yeah, the Honda Beat ( car this was designed after + a little of the old Honda S600 ) was the same way. I've always been a fan of little low powered roadsters (ex miata owner here.) and would love to see this thing. Don't forget Mugen has a S1000 already planned Apparently the Honda USA CEO wanted this here, and I feel personally it would sell well here being a cost efficient, gas efficient, sporty roadster.

So according to that article the CR-Z prototype has a dual clutch 7 speed. /puke

"The prototype version is said to feature a direct-injected and turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with the current CR-Zs Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is also said to have replaced both the CVT and manual options of the current CR-Z. Peak output of this prototype is said to be around 221 horsepower, a significant leap over the current cars paltry 130-horsepower rating. "

I sure hope they have the option for us to buy a true manual with the 2nd gen finally does come out, otherwise the 2nd gen Cr-Z will be dead to me. I don't care how good the dual clutch trannys are. I've driven one before and hate them. Nothing will replace three pedals.

Thats upsetting. I think a manual would still be offered. I'm almost certain manual CR-Z's outsold, or at least sold before the automatics did.
I'll never care how much faster an automatic can do what I want to do instead.

I always had a thing for kei cars. Gran Turismo is what got me started on them. As for the 2nd gen CR-Z which the automatic, I won't be getting one. I don't see them putting a manual in it, even though it should have one just like any sporty car should.

the s660 doesnt have a 5mph crash tested bumper. They said if the us saw the s660 we would get a 1.0l engine with around the 100hp mark but the nessecary modifications that would have to be made to the car to meet us standards where far to much. I would love a mid engine roadster that doesnt cost as much as the boxter, the us market has seriously lacked in mid engine roadsters, especially since the mr2 stopped production.

Just me and Lola getting by with what we got and enjoying every corner along the way
