Default No 18s

I won't run 18s: too heavy. But good for others to know.

I do plan on running Eibach Pro-Kit springs (@ 1" drop), but probably not coilovers. Will add a front strut bar and rear anti-roll bar at a minimum to lessen understeer & stiffen up chassis. May add a front Type 1-style underbrace. My goal is to get this car handling as close to a MINI Cooper as possible.

I'd still like to know for sure why the +40 17x7.5s possibly won't work in front. I've got to think a 17mm push out toward the fender from stock plus a 235-series tire could cause rubbing, and I, too, don't want to mess with camber bolts, fender rolling, etc. I want a bolt-on, mount-it-and-forget-it package.

^ Just for comparison - here is what the Honda 17 (6.5") and 45 offset looks like on the front. Rubber is 205/45.... Eibachs w/1" drop.. With the drop - would think anything larger/wider than maybe 5mm would require camber/fender rolling.

6.5 is actually pretty skinny. on that drop you could do lower offset or wider wheel no problem. a 17x8.25 +35 with 205/40 would fit with maybe minor minor rear modification. a 215/40 might rub

Default Love that setup

Diggin' your car, Scotty!

Yeah, I really think +40 17x7.5 rims with 215-series tires will cause issues in the front. Based on your photo, Scotty, there's just not 17mm of room to play with between the outer sidewall and the fender. 7mm, maybe (and maybe slightly less than that depending on how the 215-series tire fits on the 7.5-inch Enkei Fujin).

+50 in front, +40 in the back, then!
