The only thing is that the chart and calculator don't consider stretch.
Yeah, but we have Roddy's excellent wheel fitment thread, with an ever-growing database of photographic examples which should be helpful in finding a particular look one is going for with regards to tire and wheel appearances.
I understand certain looks and some current trends may not be attainable with the list of proper tire sizes, however one is free to choose whatever size they prefer, hence the disclaimer. This list is merely meant to be the one-stop-shop for within-specification tire sizes, and to help take some of the unknowns and confusion out of tire sizes, especially for those who may be new to this area.
There have been tire size calculators in the past that have had rather crude simplistic visualizations/representations of the tire size compared to the wheel size, for which you could change the tire size and see a visual change in the diagram, but the diagrams weren't very helpful or realistic in terms of really helping to visualize them on the vehicle.
So after looking at available tire sizes one can head over to the great wheel fitment thread and check out what some of the tires look like mounted on various width, diameter and offset wheels: CR-Z Wheel Fitment Thread
Thanks KoalaYummies! You again, Sir, have made a very significant contribution to this Forum! Appreciate all the help bud!
On the side note, is there anybody who tried downsizing to a 15in wheelset? Maybe a 15X8 or 15X8.5? I know as long as we stay within those specs KoalaYummies made, we should be good (as long as it clears the brakes).
