Visitation question

I last visited the forum earlier this afternoon (9/16/11)

The welcome box at top right above the menu bar still says I last
visited on 9/13/11, and threads that I have read already still
show in bold like I have not read them.

Do I need to change a setting on my laptop?

Hard to say - depending on the browser you are using - eh -results can vary. For example - if using most browsers and you use the "remember me" option and then completely close the browser, reopen and go back to the Forum - all your previously read post may appear as unread.

As the moderators are here to "moderate" - as opposed to being help desk guys, can't really provide browser specific advice. There are many variables to each user's computer/browser and choice of browser settings. But, when I experience the same thing I'll usually force a log off and log back on to clear the queue.

No biggie really, more a curiosity question.

I'm using a 2010 MacBook Pro with Safari, and not having this issue with any
other forums (scratches head).

I'm on a macbook running safari as well, and it gives me the same issue. It's a minor inconvenience but I usually know which threads I've already visited.

Once you read the last page (if there a multiple pages) of the thread, then scroll to the top and click New Posts, then this will show all of the threads you read during the current visit in a non bold font. As to the last visited date, it shows the last time you were on the site prior to the current date.

May be an issue with the cookie settings on the forum. I will check into it.

I visited the forum this morning, then again tonight, and for the first time
the box at top right says I last visited "today at 10:04 am"
