Subscribe to thread...

Is there a way to subscribe to a thread without making a post to it? Basically I would like to have a notification in my email when a new post is made to select threads. Is this possible?

If you would like to subscribe to a thread click the 'Thread Tools' button on the first thread post, then click on 'Subscribe to this Thread'. The next page will ask you details whether you want instant email notification and other settings. You shouldn't have to have a post in the thread in order to subscribe to it.

The lazy way to do this is to post "subscribed" in that thread... this obviously sucks b/c your wasting space and bumping the thread to the top of new posts and sometimes confuses people... the best way is to do what Mike suggested...

for those curious, it looks like this:


to edit your subscription settings go to your "UserCP" and under "Settings & Options" you'll see "Edit Options" scroll down and you'll see "Default Thread Subscription Mode" personally i select "No email notification" b/c if it's a popular thread the emails can get quite annoying...
