I'd like to see an option to receive notification by email whenever there has been a reply to a thread that members have posted to?

That option exists.. check out the Control Panel, set it to get email from subscribed threads.. and subscribe to the threads you want.

CRaZee is correct. Once you fill out your email in your User CP, in any thread select 'Thread Tools' at the top of it, and go to 'Subscribe to this Thread' . You can then set how often you want to get a reply to your email address.

If you ever want to unsubscribe to the thread, you can choose not to in the User CP at any time.
