I don't know any IT people that use internet explorer for anything other than downloading a different web browser.

That's what is funny under threats found it goes 0,1 and back to 0 and says no threats found. If I see the pop up thing again I'll take a pic.

I'm in IT too. I actually use only IE. It's the standard at my work.

The popup has been rare for me and random, prob related to one of the ADs. I force close IE, because it want you to click OK, which I would not do.

We only use IE for testing purposes. Otherwise we stick with firefox or chrome. But that is neither here nor there in this thread.

Guys my tech has reported back to me that it was an ad not an actual virus... it was one of those ads that wanted you to click to download their product.. it was set on google ads and we have now disabled/blocked that ad from google... if you still see that pop up, send me a screen shot and we will take action on it.

Thanks admin. I've seen a number of pop ups in my time, and most that look like what I saw here usually lead you to download something you don't want inadvertently...

Just for the record IE9 is pretty good. I use it on a daily basis because I need to see what my users see when I apply group policies, etc.. Dogfooding ftw. I don't use any addons/extensions, so for me it doesn't matter.

As tech evolves, it's basically like picking a favorite 'team'. Google, Apple, Microsoft.... they all do similar things and you get the task done in a similar manner. The popularity of these companies goes in waves. Right now, Microsoft is down and Apple/Google is up. It's like the stock market.
