Default CR-Z passing the GT500, 6.0 GTO, 335i on the track at Buttonwillow

I have a CR-Z, and my BF, Sam has a Si. He loves driving his car, but he has so much fun tracking in mine. My car is totally stock, besides the wheels and tires. Check out how well the CR-Z did on the track.

Sam is passing the GT500, 6.0 GTO, 335i, and w/e the heck that was the CR-Z passed last.

Looks like fun!
I can't help thinking that the CR-Z passed all those cars because they ran out of gas, though. LOL
Good camera. Just like being there.
And as for that "thing" at 9:15, it looks like someone bred a Beetle with an Ariel Atom. Not pretty.

Awesome! That's really good time for being stock-ish. My best time when I still had my integra was 2:14 so 2:17 is great having about 50 HP less

I think we all got a little bent out of shape over there but we're all just impressed at how well the car performs when really driven. Haters aside. Sorry for reposting this. It'd be great if this inspires others to track. The car feels equally at home on the track as all the other "performance" cars and the hybrid stigma really needs to be dispelled. Kinda crazy because my BF thinks with just a couple of camber bolts and a different wheel/street tire set up could probably net something in the 2:15s. That'd be something!

How did the battery charging cope? Was he in sport mode all the time?

Battery charging is definitely an issue on this track. There are only 6 places I needed to lift here. Most of those I don't get the full regenerative braking effect because I'm spending time rev-match downshifting which means I'm not in gear the whole time. I was in "normal" mode. According to a member on here(muddy?) normal mode offers smoother throttle response than the on/off-ish response of Sport mode. This thoguht has been echoed by someone from HondaTuning as well. Kinda ironic but what can ya do?

So was the battery pretty much depleted during and after
the runs?
