![]() Hey guys, sorry for the delay on the photos. The install is pretty straight forward. But it only fits about 95% perfect, but I'm working on getting it to fit 100%, should have the parts that I need by the weekend. Check out the photos below. ![]() Here's the stock set up. ![]() Please excuse the wiring mess. The rear cargo section has to be removed obviously, we removed the top divider first which is two 12mm bolts that are located behind the plastic panels at the bottom corners of the seat, once its folded down you'll see them. Once the top part was taken out, the bottom piece is held in by clips so you just need a good tug on it to remove it. ![]() The rear cargo area has to be removed as well, so the side panels can come out. ![]() Once the panels are removed you should be able to see the frame for the divider, its held in by two 14mm bolts, once they are removed it should come straight out. check out the difference between the two, they are very different with all sorts of anchor points for the baby seat etc. ![]() ![]() The new framing bolts in perfectly, but there are two new bolt points, you'll need to get bolts to fit these to secure it properly (ours were ordered). ![]() ![]() Here's the main problem with fitment. Since we have that cargo tray here in the states, its all held in with clips. The JDM seat has some anchor points that clip into the bottom of the chassis. I assumed that these clips were similar to an Si rear seat since I remember them being similar when i took one apart a few years ago. I ordered the clips from an Si to see if they'd fit, but its a total gamble to see if they work, but they were cheap so it's no big deal. ![]() This is the seat installed. Like I said, its a 95% perfect fit, just those clips that need to be installed for a perfect fit. I thought about cutting off those pieces or bending them back but I'd rather try to get it to fit perfectly. I'll have news for everyone soon. The condition of the seat was near mint. No flaws that I could find. Now that its installed I'm loving it. I feel a lot less paranoid about throwing stuff back there and scratching or breaking a panel. Plus I think it completes the interior. Hope my photos and write up arent horrible. I'll report back soon with more news.

Are you going to re-do them so they match

If you are feeling generous, would you be willing to document the process for others who might need some help (or an idea of what they are getting into) involving removing/installing the divider, cargo tray, etc and/or rear seats? I have not seen a good DIY, and it seems like a popular topic.
Good luck with the swap. |
