That looks gruesome. Especially side impact video. Does any one know what speed do they test crashes at?

Usually at 35mph..

Yes - T-bones (side impact) crashes are almost always more - eh - Gruesome..

Hopefully this drops our insurance rates! I wonder why these IIHS test (insurance institute of highway safety) results were posted online so late in the CR-Z's life.

Some more info... interestingly the CR-Z did better on the IIHS test than NHTSA ... and historically NHTSA was less stringent. Cool.

I'm going to call my insurance company next week to see if they can cut me a deal on lower rates.

Painful to watch!

It seems to hold up well, though, especially compared to a couple other cars I'd looked at. Of course, untrained eyes, and all that.

A bit surprised with the outcome of the off-center front end impact. Doesn't look like the door moves much if at all. Good to see!
