cheese. This coming from a broadcast background.
Why did they make everything at the beginning so amateur and handheld? Unless they were trying to show excitement and energy. However i dont think making something look amateur really shows that. some more effects could have easily achieved this. interior shot at 4 seconds is wrong. Since the camera is fixed, this could have easily been double exposed and the front windshield could have been composited back in to match exposure all around. I would assume you want to see the interior of the product, not the boring ass highway you are driving on. lens flare at 8 seconds? are you kidding me? SO CHEESE. not a fan of the punctuation at the end of sports car and hybrid. Makes everything look amateur and juvenile. Simply saying sports car and hybrid would have made the copy much more refined and mature. Showing illegal activities on city streets such as slaloming through cones, or spinning the tires is a liability issue. Most if not all companies dont want liability. I like the broken tv flash at 17.5 seconds. if they would have done more of this it would have shown MUCH more energy. 26 seconds, again, are you kidding me? They have the product description legible for like half a second before it blurs out and becomes a lame moving blob. WTF? Lastly, J turns are for 16 year olds in their parents malibus, Why these guys are endorsing immature illegal and potentially dangerous driving is beyond me. They are missing the legal professional driver, closed course. So im lead to assume they did all of this on open roads with joe blow. AND the legal under the 39mpg says "Highway Fuel Economy, Automatic Version." Why cant they get it right and say CVT? and why is everything capiltalized? I sure hope to god this didnt air on actual television. Its pretty much an abomination. (i was bored)

What a horrible commercial, the production quality was like an amateur college film.
I loved these commercials. YouTube - ‪2011 Honda CR-Z Commercial‬‏ |
