I think your step mom should take it in and demand a new phone. I guess my phone is now running on gingerbread but I honestly can't tell what was improved. I don't see your stepmom as someone who demands the latest Android OS - which makes me believe she should be happier with the old setup.
Gingerbread 2.3.4 was pushed to my Verizon Wireless HTC Incredible... and it updated by completely bombing half of my apps. Apparently Verizon had to halt the upgrades. HTC Droid Incredible Gingerbread 2.3.4 Update Officially Halted | Android Community Gingerbread 2.3 was here, now is gone with the wind. - Page 65 - Android Forums What I don't understand is why Verizon doesn't seem to provide users with a way to go back. Oh well. BTW, I don't use my phone for much other than texting, talking, and maps. I haven't rooted it or anything. |

She uses her phone like you do, but, she keeps everything in her phone. My birthday, which was in there as 9/25/70 now reads 37402726472.
She doesn't want the new OS, especially with the problems, but do you think it's the phone (to demand a new one) or the OS? |

I updated my OS to another one other than the one my Network Provider gave me and i don'T get pushed updates anymore. but then I have to upgrade it myself which means a full wipe of the phone for the fresh install. no upgrading. but i can backup the files on my PC using USB and put them back after.
all and all not so bad but if you don't know much about doing that kind of stuff i wouldn't recommend it. same thing as Jailbreaking iphones. |
