If you had to choose, which would you pick? Mazda 3 or Honda CR-Z??? And why? - Joanna |

Well, I haven't driven the Mazda3, but I have driven the MazdaSpeed3 and I'll tell you that I had a hard time deciding between those two. That Speed3 has as much punch as a Porsche Boxster. Although different, both the CR-Z and Speed3 are a hoot to drive. In the end, for my next daly driver, I opted for the one that was probably a little more exotic-looking, less expensive to purchase and insure, lower on maintenance costs, and much, much better on gas. I got the Z.

speed3 for speed/power crz for gas saving/uniqueness See, I keep getting compliments. That's why I am trying to hold on to this car. It's been a year since it's release. And unlike a civic si or something, ive only seen maybe a hand ful of crz's floating around. I'm sure they are the same ones I see repeatadly over and over actually. A silver, white and black one.

I traded in a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 for my CR-Z.
The MS3 was a lot of fun to drive, but I don't race or drive like an ass, so I realized there wasn't much reason to put up with the terrible gas mileage, overly stiff suspension, and awful transmission. If you're into autocross or some other form of racing it would be a great car, but it's not efficient or comfortable transportation. The regular Mazda3 has better mileage and a softer ride, though. The only thing I miss about my MS3, as a cyclist, is the storage space. |

Gordon in Pickering, Ontario,Canada here.
I did not shop around for my CRZ (Grey 6MT EX), I saw it online one morning, loved the look inside and out. Test drive, bought it the same day, cash. love the little critter. I also drive a Volvo S80 and a Kawasaki 900 cruiser, same thing drove them, bought them. I tend to be a little impulsive. Bye for now. |
